Oh, I love how we now learn more about all the stuff that we've heard of before. Like the Hatch button. Desmond seems to think they can change things. Things that lead them there. So if they should succeed in changing the past, it would result in their young selves never crashing on the island, time traveling and trying to prevent the energy release - which means they cannot prevent it. That sort of time travel is breaking my brain. Unless that splits off a parallel world. Still kind of confusing.
