Ah, that was a painful read. Almost like reading the stuff they perpetrate on MTV teletext.
The Burning Hotels – wavy [Uhh, no idea how to properly translate that. To me it looks like a silly anglicism or maybe it's a musical term that I don't know.] indie-rock with some great ideashttp://www.schallgrenzen.de/the-burning-hotels-waviger-indie-rock-mit-ein-paar-zuendenden-ideen/
Some band names really sound too stupid. At least Germanized. Die brennenden Hotels [translation of the band name]. Whatever. Discovered and deemed worth listening to. The quartet The Burning Hotels from Fort Worth, Texas is playing with fire. Maybe not yet a musical wildfire, but at least in Texas wavy indie-rock is kindled and inflamed with [some journalists (if this one even is one) really overdo it with the puns >_<]. Driving rhyhms and saucy melodies and the sufficiently known ingredients of the post-punk era yield a number of perky indie-rockers like “Austin's Birthday” from the debut album “Novels” or “Stuck In The Middle” from the 2007 EP. The band released the EP “Eighty Five Mirrors” in 2007 and this year the debut album “Novels”. And you should give at least the album a listen. There are a few songs there that aren't half bad.
