Ha, I actually could stalk the internet for BAFTA info and watch Sherlock on TV. Because the BAFTA Twitter account tweeted live and there was the RadioTimes liveblog (Aw, that blogger when his sister won a BAFTA! ♥) to follow. So about half an hour before Sherlock 2x02 was going to be on TV, the Best Supporting Actor category came up. Oh god, the waiting felt like ages. And Andrew Scott won \o/!

I was a bit disappointed that Benedict didn't win in his category. :o(


So, on to the dubbed Sherlock 2x02:

- HOUND: to make it work with the acronym, they had Henry say "hound" with German pronunciation, which luckily kind of worked because the word is close enough to the German word for dog: Hund.

- They also left Frankland's "cellphone" untranslated.

- What they did sort of translate was the dog pun at the end. They changed it from Sherlock going to see a man about a dog to Sherlock saying he'll ask if they have hedgehog slices (in German it's called "kalter Hund", which means "cold dog").

- Oh, and Sherlock and John are still using the formal you.

2. Can't believe there's nothing about Andrew Scott's BAFTA win in the Sherlock comms yet. I'd post it myself, but a) I'm too shy and b) I have to get ready for meeting up with my mom and my sister.

3. Ah, with that second sentence it's looking a bit better:

“I think it would be a little weird for me to be in Doctor Who. But I’m not turning anything down!”

D'oh, almost forgot to watch it! Tuned in 5 minutes late.

- "Honey, you should see me in a crown." became "Ich sehe hinreißen mit Krone aus, Schatz." which works in written form, but dubbed it was a bit awkward, didn't really match.

- They gave Mrs. Hudson a name to say about the sender of the gingerbread man: "Grimm or something".

- They turned Jim's "staying" into "static".

- Hmph, Jim didn't call newspapers fairytales, he said that he likes newspapers and fairytales too.

- Okay, this episode I wasn't always happy with Jim's voice actor, but a lot of times he was so perfect!

- I have wondered about Sherlock's "prepared to burn", but I've always been pretty sure that he meant he would do the burning, not that it would be him who is gets burned. I don't like that Sherlock's words were translated into "bereit zu brennen", which sounds more like the latter.

- Something dubbing-unrelated: I'm still crying when it get's to the part where Jim kills himself.

- Not enough emotion in John's "he's my friend". :o/
