We had big plans for next year's Scotland vacation. If we want go directly to Edinburgh, we have to fly from Berlin, but if London is our destination, we can fly from our own city. So the plan's still to fly Dresden-London and then take the train to Edinburgh, pretend we're on our way to Hogwarts.

We wanted to stay somewhere in the Highlands, but that plan changed. We looked at places at lochs and it turned out that the building we saw at Loch Ness was an abbey and is now for vacation apartments. It's kind of Hogwartsy, has its own park, an indoor pool! It's expensive, but totally worth the money. We considered booking St. Andrew’s Chapel *flail* or Moat House 3, but they have really stupid booking terms and conditions :o(. They want the whole payment 7 weeks before you arrive. And should you be forced to cancel within 2 weeks before arrival, you wouldn't get any money back. Pretty assholean. We could afford to spend that money on a nice vacation, but not losing that amount of money. So no abbey vacation for us.

We looked at Ocean Apartments, where we had stayed the last times we were in Edinburgh, but WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THEIR PRICES?! They haven't pimped the place and yet the prices have more than tripled! Fuck them.

We've decided on an apartment recommended to us by family, because they're friends with the owner. Wow, nice price! Leaves us with money for day trips into the Highlands. And I could even end up not being broke after this vacation.
