Huh, apparently I didn't post about the butter incident here. Let me quote my tweets from 11th October:

Couldn't find the butter in my fridge and thought I wouldn't be able to bake a birthday cake. But I could clearly remember buying it, so I checked my backpack. Oh god, I had butter in my backpack for 4 days! But hey, it's soft and I can start baking the cake right away!
There was a bit of butter on the inside of my backpack and I wondered if I could put it in the washing machine, but I made the mistake of not just trying it. I forgot that butter isn't just a bit greasy, that it can also go bad. And several days later it had done that and started making my backpack smell in the most disgusting way. Then I finally washed it, but after a few days it started smelling again. I thought it was because it didn't dry properly. I washed it a second time and this time it seemed to have worked. Only for the smell to come back later again! This time I checked everything I carry around in the backback and discovered that everything made of fabric or leather had taken on the smell! I tried airing out wallet & co., because they're not that washable. That didn't do much. Then I tried superficial washing followed by more airing out. It worked enough to make these bag things stop stinking up the whole backpack, even though they themselves still smelled.
So today I went on a shopping tour today. Mostly I replaced the little bag-type things I had in my backpack: 2 glasses cases, a camera case and an iPod pocket. At least I didn't have to get a new wallet, because my mom got one for Christmas and she gave me her old one.

I also bought a new external hard drive, because IT friend, who owns the website to which I upload all my stuff, is changing the site's host (which means that for a few days all my images will be unavailable). So I'm currently downloading thousands of files (I'm not even sure if this is just as a precaution or if I'll actually need to reupload everything) - let's see how long this takes. It's looking pretty good right now! Only a bit over 1000 of nearly 7000 files to go (and that while I'm also watching a CNN stream). I love this new hard drive! It's not just fast, it's also big (1TB) and shock resistant. \o/
