Got all the songs from YouTube, except for Drones, which I couldn't find there and then got from a Muser friend. Good thing I read people's opinions on the Muse board, that way I more or less knew what to expect and wasn't too shocked.
1. Dead Inside
Has grown on me by now.
2. Drill Sergeant
First of 2 non-song tracks. :o/
3. Psycho
Still looking forward to hearing this live.
4. Mercy
And we've arrived at the songs I don't know yet. Ha, sounds like Starlight piano with Supermassive Black Hole bass. God, it's stupidly cozy so far. Mmm, arpeggios. The chorus isn't so awesome, though. I swear the bit from 2:35-2:50 reminds me of my other fave band Wir sind Helden - just can't tell right now of which song exactly.
5. Reapers
That guitar at the beginning sounds so familiar. Ha, now it sounds like Rage Against the Machine. I like that chorus. Oh god, that sound at 2:39 sounds like something out of classic Doctor Who! Liking the song a lot. HERE COME THE DRONES!
6. The Handler
Unf, starts very promising. I like the tango-ness or whatever it is. Heh, In Your World - really like that part. Really liking the whole song.
7. JFK
Non-song. *shrug*
8. Defector
Reminding me of Survival is never a good way to start a song. Shit, Queen! Why, Matt, why?! I like the guitar that starts at about 2:50.
9. Revolt
That change of speed at 1:10 is weird. The "you've got strength, you've got soul" reminds me of a non-Muse song, but I don't know what song that is. It's a weird song, but definitely less offensive to me than Defector.
10. Aftermath
What unusual guitar sound for Muse. Oh god, will the song stay that slow? Now which band does this song remind me of? I'm thinking it could be Matchbox 20 or Rob Thomas. Liking the guitar that starts at 3:39. Oh dear, the "from this moment" part reminds me of I am Sailing.
11. The Globalist
Not a fan of whistling. Will this song ever start or it just one long intro? Oh, hello there! Sounds like you could waltz to it or something. Whoa, nice change, that's more like it! Oh god, now it's back to slow and reminds me of United States of Eurasia. Now a choir! JFC, this song is all over the place!
12. Drones
Merry Christmas!
