Went to McDonald's with my mom yesterday. Of course I ordered my beloved icecream coffee, but the employee directed me to the McCafé counter. I said their iced coffee isn't the same, she replied that the recipe is different as of this season, that it's now like the old-school icecream coffee. Just to be sure I described how the coffee should be and she said that's exactly what it is now.

So I went to the McCafé counter and got that icecream coffee. Well, it's not really the original recipe again, but it seemed okay. The icecream was put in first, then came the coffee. And to my surprise it was topped with whipped cream.

The whipped cream turned out to be okay, because it tasted the same as the melted ice cream and it didn't leave an icky film on the coffee. But then I attempted to stir the icecream, make it mix with the coffee. Turned out this icecream's harder and colder (had crushed ice in it) than the sundae, so all I achieved was spilling some coffee over my hand and on the table. It tasted okay, but the coffee was cooled down a bit too much by the colder icecream.

So I'll still have to order a small coffee in a big cup and a sundae and then have discussion with employees that the new iced coffee isn't the same as the icecream coffee. *sigh*
