On Friday I remembered that that it's possible to cap frame by frame in VLC player (by slowing down the speed and pausing). Which means I could gif that thing from 2x02 that I really wanted.
Hey Sherlock, do you think I'll get through tonight's episode without crying?

Then I was sad that can't gif from DVDs. I used to be able to to do that, because I had a program with which I could move from frame to frame. Last night I thought if I can slow the video down in VLC player, maybe I can also do it in Media Player. So I got up again (Damn you, productive late night thoughts! But also hooray!) and tried. It works! Doesn't even need slowing down, there are buttons for moving one frame forward and one frame back (although the latter doesn't want to work for some reason).
Success! I'm back in gif business!
Okay, maybe this question sounds weird, but do you think it makes sense to post gifs to a graphics journal?
And speaking of my graphics journal: I posted the icons I've made so far. But I don't have that many icons from the suggestions you made.
