The stories: I prefered the historical stuff to the alien stories. And although the pace was mostly slow, there's something that I really like about this era. In some ways it felt less silly (Maybe less flashy?) than the current show.

The Doctor: Well, he was good in his own, grumpy way. During his last story I wondered (Isn't it wonderful when you get into an old fandom, but aren't spoilered for everything yet?) if it would be his last. I like how it was done in this understated way.

The companions:

• Susan: She grew on me, but the screaming was annoying. But even more annoying was her exit. I mean, the Doctor basically just dumps her! Just because Susan met a nice guy (and they didn't even know each other for long), the Doctor can't just decide for Susan to stay there!


• Barbara and Ian: I really liked them. And the goodbye they got was so nice.


• Vicki: my favorite companion from that era, if my bad memory doesn't deceive me. But she also left for a guy. That she hasn't known for long. Who lives in a different time.


• Steven: I like him because his speaking sounded natural and for personal reasons. While I have trouble understanding why anyone would stay in a place/time that isn't home, I think that Steven's reason for staying there was a good one.


• Dodo: I liked her. What I didn't like was that she left too soon and too soon after Steven's departure and in a weird way. What the fuck?


• Polly and Ben: Polly seemed good at first, at least she spoke naturally. Ben still has to earn back the points he lost (see 3x45 The War Machines, Part 4). So far I don't care much about either of them.
