Wir sind Helden: Soundso
There's probably no one (but the Germans) on my flist who's heard of Wir sind Helden. But you should have! They're their very own kind of awesome.
My little review of the new album Soundso:

1. (Ode) An die Arbeit
I don't like that song that much. It's funny, but it's mostly an conversion. I like songs more when they're sung. Okay, that part that reminds me of a GameBoy game is cool.

2. Die Konkurrenz
The songs starts out sounding like some other German band's song. But I don't know the song or band. Either there's something wrong with my memory or pretty much every song sounds a bit like some other song.
I like that song. It has energy and it's like I can hear Judith smiling when she's singing the chorus.

3. Soundso
OMG, the intro...OMG, OMG, they could totally use that on Supernatural! I'd love that ^^. Btw, you can listen to bits of the songs here.
The rest of this song sounds very different. But it's a beautiful song.

4. Für nichts garantieren
That song sounds different. It's more melodic than the others. Maybe because there's a guy from another band singing with. I don't like his accent but the song is cute. Oh, that song must be perfect for falling asleep. Very relaxing.

5. Kaputt
Realistic, but optimistic song. Very typical slighty strange Wir sind Helden lyrics and sound.

6. Labyrinth
Oooh, that's one of my favorites! Love the chorus! ♥
This song had me almost going insane trying to remember where I heard that piano bit before. It took me only a day to find out, but before I knew that it was only going to take a day it felt like ages. I had no idea where to begin looking. Then I had a hunch: Alanis Morissette. And I was right, I had heard that piano bit (as guitar) before: A Man. Ha, I am not imagining things! At least not all of the time.

7. The Geek (Shall Inherit)
Heee! I loved that song before I had even listened to it. I just fell in love with the title. Then I fell in love with the lyrics (which is rare for me).
Oh and, can someone please tell me what the beginning of the song sounds like? I think REM maybe?

8. Endlich ein Grund zur Panik
Hehe, clever song. The video shows their silliness ^^. I must say it took me some time (as with most first singles) till I liked that song. Maybe because I was afraid I wouldn't like the new album.

9. Der Krieg kommt schneller zurück als du denkst
Nice song and typical Helden. Hm, good guitar at the end.

10. Hände hoch
That song has something of some Gwen Stefani song (a less freaky one - dude, WTH did become of her music? Go back to No Doubt!), I think.
Aw, pretty song. It feels like you should listen to this one with your eyes closed. And I can just imagine how this is gonna be live: we'll have our hands up, waving. Hee, can't wait for the concert (one day before the release of Deathly Hallows)!

11. Stiller
Ew, no! The first lines aren't sung but spoken like a poem. I don't like poems very much. Especially not when they don't make sense to me. Funny thing is there's a line that describes the not making sense. It looks like this song is about how the world doesn't make sense, is a big mystery. I don't know.

12. Lass uns verschwinden
Hehe, that guitar reminds me of Creed. At least this time it isn't a melody.
Also very typical Helden. Of the realxing sort. And perfect as the last song of the album.

You know what I love? When a band keeps their style. So: YAY!
