Woke up nearly over (by the time I posted this) 4 hours ago and still haven't managed to fall back asleep, argh.
At least CNN is keeping me company. Hey, did you know that if you keep drinking your leader's Kool-Aid, you might just get poisoned? Congrats to the Trumpident's aide who's allegedly caught Covid, she's earned it. Fuck these fascists.
Weird that Trump will actually quarantine this time. Hey, I'm sorry to be paranoid, but that's what you become with that guy. Is he trying to hide something? Symptoms maybe? Or trying to hide from something? The next debate is 2 weeks away - depending on the length of his quarantine, he might miss it.
That's not what I came here to say. I meant to just rant about language. I keep hearing "whether/if or not". With the above-mentioned news CNN went overboard with it, which is why I'm now here to vent.
The redundancy of that phrase is driving me nuts. The "or not" is so fucking implied in the words "whether" and "if" that there's really no need to make the phrase longer, unless you get paid by the word or you're talking about a specific 2nd option (that isn't the negation of the 1st one, obviously). Example: "Whether I fall asleep within the next 20 minutes or in 3 hours, I'll wake up later than I would have if I had slept through."

How I feel: tired
