Finally subscribed to Disney+
It's all WandaVision's fault, specifically a cast spoiler's. I've had an eye on the show before it even started airing, because I do love me some mysteries and speculating about them. Despite that I wasn't yet desperate to watch the show. Then last week a Twitter hashtag about a character was the catalyst.

X-Men's Quicksilver on this MCU show, WHAAAT? Suddenly I felt intensely fond of him, although I only remembered 2 things about him from the X-Men movies: that the mansion rescue scene with the soundtrack was amazing and - more dimly - that he's Magneto's son.

After WandaVision I rewatched Days of Future Past (I can't believe this movie is only from '14 - it feels like ages ago! The Trump era really fucked with my sense of time.) & Apocalypse (Apocalypse's eyes looked so familiar, but I just couldn't place him, so I checked the IMDb and was flabbergasted that he was played by Oscar Isaac). I've never seen Dark Phoenix though and it's not on Disney+.

So where did this sudden fondness for Peter come from? Did I subconsciously remember how fun and chill he is? Was there a dormant fondness (that I had completely forgotten about in the meantime) for him, because of those cool rescue scenes? Was it because I have a thing for dark eyes? Maybe just something plot-related like the emotional potential of Wanda reuniting with her dead bro and/or the mystery of how/why a different Quicksilver got into Wanda's dimension (I prefer the idea that this is a real Peter/Pietro [hopefully even the one we saw in X-Men] instead of some imposter)? I might have stumbled across the answer yesterday when I was looking at Alias caps. There's something about Peter's eyes that reminds me of my Alias fave Weiss!

But back to WandaVision itself: So far I love the show. It started out a bit slow, but with the ending of episode 3 it took off. Can't wait for more, although I'm a bit worried that it might end in sadness.

After I finished my Alias rewatch around Christmas, I had a desire for watching more shows again. I thought 2021 would be a TV year for me and so far it looks like it will be. I'll finally do all the rewatches I meant to have (well, not all, but certainly a lot) and now that I have Disney+, I can finally get my hands on the Star Wars shows The Clone Wars & Rebels.
