26	456	The Mandalorian 3x03 Chapter 19: The Convert	As much as I appreciate all the info about how the New Republic deals with who and what’s left of the Empire, it’s still super weird to me how these Star Wars shows shift the focus to other characters for so long. I think Pershing’s story would have been better if interspersed with Mando’s. Two girl crushes in one episode, oh my! Although one didn’t show her face (At least it made sense by the end. Oh hey, I loved that faith crisis at the beginning and how she conveyed that despite getting to do no face acting) and the other turned out to still be a baddy (which I totally should have seen coming, because of course it was suspicious that she was from the same ship, but then I let myself get so charmed that I forgot about that). Ah, the meek (but in a worryingly malleable way) Pershing. At first I thought he wasn’t fully reformed or that Elia would turn him back, but it looks like malleability was a problem the other way around and that’s why she set him up. Guy had actually seen the error of his ways and probably would blab about a top-secret project if she didn’t incapacitate him. Sure, he could have spilled the beans already and Elia incapacitated him out of revenge, but I’m terribly fond of my theories, so I prefer to assume the big secret is that they’re trying to clone Palpatine, and as the New Republic was not aware of that plot, Pershing couldn’t have revealed that. I love the topic of his research, because I’m still hoping for a confirmation of my Maxi-Chlorian theory. But now that the doc apparently got his brain fried, I wonder how we’ll get more info about what exactly he was up to with Grogu (I have a theory, but d'oh, I just thought of a new one too).
