I finally found myself a Muse icon.
Actually, it is the Muse icon. You know how I ship Doctor Who/Muse, they're my fandom OTP. Gotta love the internet. You wonder "Am I the only one?" and sooner or later you'll find out that no, there are others. ^^

Hey, you know what's funny? When you read "Matt should be the 11th Doctor". My first thought was "Matt is the 11th Doctor!", even though I knew where I was (Muse forum) and those entries were from 2006 - they meant Muse's Matt, of course, not Matt "Eleven" Smith.

Also, I just noticed (better late than never) that you can *tap tap tap tap* along with the guitar in Knights of Cydonia. How can we win when fools can be kings? Or, you know, evil but entertaining psychos can be Prime Ministers. No one's gonna take me alive - How about that? I win. We win when the psycho wins, nice. Will it stop, Doctor? The drumming. Will it stop? Yes, wait 'til the song is over. Oh... hee... his song is ending. But I think there's hope... we know someone will knock four times.

What I hear: Muse - Knights of Cydonia

That is a BRILLIANT icon. And Knights of Cydonia is a fantastic song.

Btw, I finished S1 of Doctor Who and watched the first Christmas Special. I'm very curious to hear your thoughts on Christopher Eccleston v. David Tennant as the Doctor. And I'm really, really looking forward to the next 3 seasons because I think I'm already in love with Tennant's Doctor. :p

I fail at using words
Well, let's see. When I first started watching Doctor Who, I missed half the episodes because the channel kept moving it around the schedule (but I shouldn't complain, the channel is known for just canceling stuff if they're unhappy with the ratings, so we were lucky just to get moved around), so I didn't really have an opinion on Nine. Same schedule problem with season 2, but I fell in love with Ten.
When I got all the episodes and watched S1, I liked Nine so much that I was actually worried I wouldn't like Ten anymore (although that also had something to do with dubbing voice vs original voice). But David Tennant is just so awesome and a bouncy ball and a fanboy and brings so much to that role ♥.
I'm not good when it comes to describing characters. I'd say Nine and Ten are very similar and there's only one difference I really noticed. Nine was in a way more mysterious, above us... you know, like we feel about stars... like they're out of reach... oh, I think I understand now why they're called stars ^^. Yeah, so he could be physically right there next to you, but it would still feel like he was distant. But Ten is just so... there. Can't blame the companions for forgetting he's not human.
I think that distance makes him more... idk, epic. So that's good for the character. But Ten's just much... um, positive? No, there were more complaints about his emoness than Nine's. Um.. yeah, he's just closer, more social maybe. So I guess that's why prefer Ten. You could just meet him on the street and hug him and he's be all smily-faced about it. XD

Re: I fail at using words
After watching Children of Earth, watching the first season of Doctor Who was so refreshing. Nine was just so... excited about everything! I should have counted the number of times he said fantastic. It would have been a lot. ;)

And I think you've made a really great observation there about the difference between Nine and Ten. I've only seen one episode with Ten in it, but already I just want to squish him. I think you're right - Nine was a bit more alien to us, whereas Ten is a bit more human. But still a badass. What he did to the prime minister in the Christmas Invasion after she had Torchwood nuke the alien ship was brilliant and a very good reminder of how powerful he really is - he literally did destroy her career with six words.

Sort-of related to this: I was practically bouncing off the walls during all the scenes with Jack in S1. And then, at the end, when Rose has absorbed the power source of the TARDIS and uses it to give life back to Jack. I take it this is when Jack became immortal? And then they just left him there, on Satellite Five.

Re: I fail at using words
I love the Christmas Invasion. Every time I hear him say "Did you miss me?" I can't help going "YESSS!". I know, he isn't gone yet, but since the news that David Tennant leaves after the 2009 specials I missed him already.
Oh, poor Harriet Jones. Do you think he went a little over board there? I think he did. "No second chances" - she didn't get a second chance! It amuses me that some bad things are consequences of this - it's kinda Ten's fault. And my god, is Britain going through Prime Ministers fast. Wasn't the one from Torchwood S3 an ass?! And we thought the one befoer was bad XD. I wonder what would have happened if Harriet had still had the job.

Yes, that's when Jack became immortal. But they'll only talk about this again at the end of S3.
I don't know if you've seen it: There's a Children in Need special (if you can't find it, I could upload it for you) that takes place between the S1 finale and The Christmas Invasion. Jack is mentioned there and it shows that they know Jack is alive. But I don't remember if they knew he died and was brought back or if they just assumed he survived.

Re: I fail at using words
Omg, your icon. *dies* That scene was hysterical. I have to admit, it's a bit hard for me to go into this already liking his version of the Doctor so much because I know it's going to be painful when he leaves in the 2009 special and is replaced by Matt Smith (I don't even know who that kid is!)

I do think he went a little over board there. I was really surprised - but in a way, I think it makes sense. Destroying the alien ship was not what he was expecting as a response from Britain and it actually made me think about Gwen's speech in S3 of Torchwood about how the Doctor must look away from humanity in shame. And yes, I agree - the Prime Minister in S3 was a complete ass. What's weird is if you check the character list on IMDB has Harriet Jones listed as one of the characters that's going to be in the first 2009 special. o.O

And I just watched Children in Need (thank you, youtube!) and you're absolutely right - Rose says "Let's go find Captain Jack, he'd know what to do" and the Doctor replies "He's busy, he's got plenty to do rebuilding the earth." Of course, this just makes me even MORE curious. So it seems to me that the Doctor knows he was brought back and apparently is the one who rebuilds Earth.

Apologies for all the replies - I'm bored at work and horribly excited to discuss Doctor Who/Torchwood with someone. :D

I don't even know who that kid is!
Heh, pretty much no one knows.

The IMDb lies :o/. Well, I'm not sure if in this case, but it does happen a lot. But OMG, I'd love this to be true. Dammit, that gives me ideas about the episode. Ideas that won't happen.

No need to apologize! That's why I'm online, I want to talk about my fandoms. It's one of my favorite things to do.
