That was the rest of Monday:
The final briefing had a surprise for us: OMFG, New York! So there actually is a 7th city?! But I'm still sure it had nothing to do with the tweet. Just a coincidence.
It's on Tuesday, 11:30-12:30, so for me it starts at 5:30pm. Ah, good, should give me enough time to sleep.
The NY Station looks almost like the others, but the big red text is new:
"You will have grand finale - and a tough decision to make!" So that's the tough decision they tweeted about? Giving us USoE to download or find out what THE RESISTANCE WILL BE MOBILISED means? Resistance is the name of the album... hm. Heh, I was reminded of Doctor Who with the thought "What happens if I refuse?". Cybermen will delete us, of course. ^^
So most of us are pretty sure we should not activate the Station, we resist. Why else would there be a deadline all of a sudden. And the coordinates are harder to understand than those for the other drop locations.
This lead to ideas how to stop people from activating. Earlier there were jokes about how we crash every site. Now we have to crash ourselves. Crash the microsite, so the activation code can't be entered.
So we aren't minions anymore, most of us are the Resistance now. And to keep the minions from getting the key, we have to send our people there. Crazy ideas were thrown around. Faking disabilites could help get the key. A bomb scare so no one could be at the drop location (which is probably a really bad idea, especially for New York). I think we also spread false information about the drop location.
There was endless discussion if the right thing is to activate or not. Most say resist, because it looks like we'll get something better than what we'll get for activating. For activating we know we get an mp3 of USoE - which is pretty useless, since there are already mp3s of this floating around. I think it's worth not to activate, just to find out what happens. People think the one who activates gets the free tickets only for activating. I think they'd get them too if they choose not to activate, as a reward for making the difficult decision.
Some believe Collateral Damage = Osaka Jam (it's called that because it was first played in Osaka). And then there was a bit of fun when someone made a typo and called it Osama Jam. Someone posted a clip from a German comedy show where Osama is rocking out to that annoying song that I've bleached from my brain. Numa Numa or something. And someone posted a picture of a glass of jam with Osama photoshopped on the label. Then someone took the comedy show clip and put it to different music: USoE. ^^
Around 7pm I rested my eyes and woke up 8:04 - ooh, my timing is good! Because 8:15 I wanted to watch Fringe. Which in the end I didn't really do. It was in the background while I was busy catching up on the thread.
A British DJ played USoE and said tomorrow he'll play it with Collateral Damage too. So now everyone thinks what we'll get for activating is this song.
From Muse's twitter we got the following clues:
Station Colossus #1: Charles found the square yard quite common.
Station Colossus #2: An explosive legacy beget a dove.
Station Colossus #3: The politics of leisure deter anger.
Looks like the answers are Darwin, Nobel and Aristotle - which could make the authentication code "DNA". We see this as a sign: Do Not Activate. Well, not all of us. Not many seem to agree that this is the password.
My sister was here 10pm-1am, hogging the computer (her internet doesn't work), so then I had to catch up on the treasure hunt thread again. Not that there was much. Many, many entries yes, but still only arguing over the activation/resistance thing. WTF keeps everone discussing what to do when somebody got the key, when someone can only get the key if we know the password? Why is no one trying to figure out the password?
OMG, New York happens in 17 minutes!
