I should write my Star Trek Into Darkness notes into sentences and post this review, but I'm still grumpy and worried about my tech trouble.
IT friend said it could be a USB problem. Not sure yet, he still has to do remote diagnostics - but the fact that the the other 2 USB devices (mouse and internet stick) keep malfunctioning (though in a much more bearable way) makes me thinks his suspicion is correct.
Gah, I need to get this problem solved! Because if I don't, it could mean the death of another external hard drive (And I really have better things to do than buy new ones all the time!) or that I have to stop using them. Hey, I could keep my stuff directly on the computer, but to be save I'd need to keep the backups somewhere else - and I can't think of anything more practical than external hard drives.
I still have hope for this hard drive. Not that I've given up hope on the old one - I just think that this one isn't comatose yet and I could get to the un-backed-up files myself.
