Well, first of all Muse's Wembley gigs. The majority of the year has been all about those concerts and the trip: planning, worrying that something won't go as planned, saving money for the trip, worrying that it won't be as awesome as I want it to be, worrying that I'll find out I'm afraid of flying.
Thanks to the somewhat spontaneous Edinburgh trip in May I got to find out early if I'm afraid of flying. I'm not, yay! It's even fun. And I got to visit Britain for the first time, yay! And watch two of my favorite shows 'live' (you know what I mean), yay!
In August I got myself a new fandom (when I wasn't even looking for something new): Sherlock! Damn that short show. Three episodes - seriously, that's cruel!
Then, after 10 months of waiting and planning and worrying, it was finally September and time to fly to London for Muse's Wembley concerts. I have much to say about this trip, a review is in the works. Long story short: London itself was okay, meeting other fans was awesome, and the gigs were awesome. It really didn't disappoint... not even the first gig with its cheesetastic setlist. ❤
My other favorite band Wir sind Helden was finally back on tour, but they didn't come to Dresden. Whaaat? Dammit, most of the time I have to travel to concerts. At least it wasn't far, only Leipzig. And the friend with whom I went has so many friends that she knew someone who lives in Leipzig and we could stay in their apartment. Yay!
With the Wir sind Helden gig I've already been to more concerts than I've ever been in a year. But then a fourth followed: Red Hot Chilli Pipers (no, that's not a typo). Those guys know how to entertain! And I'm happy that I didn't have to travel for this concert, finally someone who came to Dresden. And I got to try out my new shiny Panasonic TZ10. But I still have no video uploaded, because the videos are so big - I get disconnected before the video is complete. Stupid wobbly connection.
Yesterday I managed to finish reading The Writer's Tale. Fucking finally! I started that book over a year ago! In the middle of 2009 I posted the first part of my review, but I don't think I'll post the second. Nobody cares anyway, right? I'll just say this reviewy bit: I loved the title of the epilog XD. I'm tempted to buy the updated version, but who knows how long reading that will take me.
