There was a solar eclipse this morning and it wasn't very cloudy \o/. It's also good that it was in the morning, because that's when I can see the sun from my balcony.
So far, so good. But how to capture to a solar eclipse? That shutter speed thing didn't work, so then I tried taking pictures through various fabrics.
Success! Shot through my teddy bear jacket.
Only worked once, though. I tried several times, but I didn't manage to get a good pciture through that jacket again.
But then I took a picture from behind the balcony door. Yay, reflections!
And I noticed the iridescent clouds that weren't visible to the naked eye, because the sun shone so brightly over them.
Now if I weren't so depressingly physics-dumb, I'd understand why the light between the shadows is eclipse-shaped.
Ah, that brings back memories of the last (and first) solar eclipse I saw. It was about 10 years ago and we were amazed by the crescent lights in the leaves's shadow. Dammit, there must be at least one photo somewhere. But where?
And then I discovered what a nice dark background the railing provides for the reflections.

Reflections from a disco ball.

Shot through a net curtain. The clouds also helped a bit.
Oh god, it's so fucking pretty!
...I showed those pics to my best friend today, but she wasn't fascinated in the least. How can you not find that fascinating?! :O

This is my railing. And my dirty balcony door.

The last picture I got of the solar eclipse.
Clouds and a bird.
The very last picture I took before the battery died.
