6x01 The Impossible Astronaut
Aw, Elisabeth Sladen gets a card at the beginning of the episode, not at the end.
What a silly painting. "Where's the Doctor?" - "Doctor who?" This is how you start a season, haha! Well, of course huge skirts make good hiding places.
So that's Rory and Amy's new home. And they actually get to spend time there, yay!
Haha, the Doctor in the film. With a fez! :oD
River's curls are pretty.
So the Doctor is 1103 now, time flies! And Amy put on a couple of pounds. Domestic bliss must suit her, hehe. But did she really? I think her face looks rounder, it's cute. "I thought I'd never get done saving you." But why do you make it sound like you're done now? How could you ever be done?
So I guess that's our impossible astronaut.
Wait, what, regeneration? Really? Wait, what, death? Really? I refuse to believe it, no matter what the guy says. Well, okay, the Doctor looks pretty dead, but if there's one thing that won't happen any time soon it's the Doctor actually dying. Soooo... is he a clone or something? I'm not sure I want a time can be rewritten thing. I mean, yeah, we saw that last season and it worked well, but... gah. It's confusing, what was it that happened and what hasn't happen anymore. And there's the danger of some things getting unhappened when they were too good to get erased.
"Who did the Doctor trust the most?" Himself? And it is! Of course it would have to be. This can't be a Doctorless episode. It's already lacking TARDIS. Special straw, it adds more fizz :oD. Oh, 909-year-old Doctor, got about 200 years to fix the future then.
Yay, TARDIS!
"I'm being extremely clever up here and there's no one to stand around looking impressed. What's the point in having you all?" Dear Mr. Moffat, why did you even try and deny similarities between Sherlock and the Doctor? It's so obvious that everyone can see it and pointing out differences won't make the similarities go away. XD
Oh, so the Doctor doesn't really trust River. Because he still doesn't know who she is and who she killed. And I'm still kind of convinced that she killed the Doctor. And at the same time I trust her. The Doctor wants Amy to swear on something that matters and she chooses fish fingers and custard, aw! I almost thought she would swear on his life. Awww: "My life in your hands, Amelia Pond." The way he says it, it's just so full of trust. ♥
Oh, hello Mark Sheppard! So you're Canton? I thought he would play a bad guy. Although... that's relative sometimes.
"You were my second choice for this, Mr. Delaware." - "That's okay, you were my second choice for president, Mr. Nixon." Hehe. Futurama has ruined me: when I think of Nixon, I see his head in a jar.
And speaking of similarities to Sherlock (Aren't you glad that I didn't make a whole list like this when I rewatched season 5 earlier this month?): There's a call, there a kid (Is this Moff Jr. again?) and there's a man saying "A child?". And wow, does Canton's voice remind of Lestrade there.
Ha, how Eleven is sitting so casually at the President's desk and then everyone is pointing his gun at him. Undercover agent loaned from Scotland Yard, codename the Doctor, heee. And the Legs, the Nose and Mrs. Robinson, hahaha! Canton, I like your smile! "I'm gonna need [...] a pot of coffee, 12 jammy dodgers and a fez." ♥
Maps! That would be so much easier with Google Maps! The TARDIS must have something like that that shows the current layout, no? Amy sees a Silent again and then out of sight, out of mind. Ooh, either people's speculations were correct or what I thought were speculations were actually spoilers.
I like how the Silent looks like an alien but wears a suit. Heh, the woman asks if that's a Star Trek thing. Oh, look, it has a mouth. Good, Amy takes a picture of the Silent. A video would have been better though, with all her observations. Or alternatively a text that reminds her that she forgets the thing when she doesn't see it. Or would the picture of it be enough to make her remember that she forgets it when she doesn't see it? Even if, she'll have to find the picture first. What if she forgets she has that photo? OMG, it speaks!
Soooo... Amy feels sick again after she's seen the Silent. And she forgot about the picture, dammit.
I need to randomly throw something in: I just had a look at the episode's IMDb page and noticed that the old version of Canton is also played by a Sheppard. That's Mark Sheppard's dad, heee!
"Jefferson isn't a girl's name" the Doctor explains and overall I agree, but it's not like you wouldn't find a girl with a (masculine) last name as a first name, especially in this country. Haha, Canton in the TARDIS.
"And Doctor Song, you got that face on again." - "What face?" - "The he's hot when he's clever face." - "This is my normal face." - "Yes, it is." - "Oh, shut up." - "Not a chance."
"So we're in a box that's bigger on the inside and it travels through time and space?" - "Yeah, basically." - "How long have Scotland Yard had this?" Dammit, now I want a Sherlock/Doctor Who crossover even more.
The Moff loves using phones that shouldn't be working, doesn't he? Seeing the spaceman in the dark reminded me of River's first episode. And now I just remembered that this episode was called Silence in the Library. Coincidence? Red herring? For the lulz?
"Time can be rewritten." - "Not all of it." - "Says Who?" :oP Exactly! But instead of that River says "Who d'you think?"
River innuendos and to Canton's "So what's going on here?" the Doctor replies "Uh... nothing! She's just a friend.", heh.
Silents! So many Silents! River, didn't you say you were a screamer? Come on, scream that you see Silents before you forget them!
Ooh, River talking about the Doctor. It's so fascinating. And sad! "The day's coming when I look into that man's eyes... my Doctor... and he won't have the faintest idea who I am... and I think it's going to kill me." And we know that she will die when she meets the Doctor who doesn't know her. ;_;
That's the thing from The Lodger! Oh good, I never was happy with that episode, it just left it hanging who that was.
River also felt sick after seeing the Silents, but looks like Rory doesn't. Oh no, what happened to Rory? I'm not to worried, they wouldn't kill him again. Not so soon anyway. And I hope they won't ever.
"Doctor... who exactly?" What, twice in one episode? Well, I guess, now one can always claim a Silent made them forget. Seriously, I can see meme evolving from that.
Amy wants to tell the Doctor something, but instead of the Silents she talks about pregnancy. I don't believe it. She just felt sick again from seeing Silents and her focus was on her stomach, so her brain probably just put something together so she could tell the Doctor something. Or she is actually pregnant and so is River. Haha.
The little girl is in the spacesuit! But is she really? I mean, she is a bit small for it. And was that her in the suit when the Doctor got shot? Is she the daughter of Amy and Rory? if so, is Amy really pregnant? Is she River Song? If she's River, why does she not remember? Or is she lying? So many questions!
What an episode! It made no sense, but I loved it anyway. Because it gives you so much to theorize about! \o/
Confidential 6x01 Coming to America
Shiny new opening sequence.
"I think it's less that it's the seat of all power, I think it's more that it was regularly featured in the West Wing that really made me excited." Haha, fanboy. I love it when show creator are fanboys/-girls and not afraid to show it. Of course Doctor Who is pretty much entirely made by those people. But there are shows where TV just seems a job for the creators and that makes me sad.
Nice soundtrack at 23 minutes. Dammit, I know what this is, but I can't remember what it's called. Ahaha, I can totally blame the Silents for this. Good thing there's always the all-knowing internet.
Did the Moff say "It's all about that pregnancy." or "It's all about that 'pregnancy'."?
He promises answers, yay. I love answers!
