So Much More
My songwriting and singing friend [livejournal.com profile] abe16kidbosco has just released her first album! :oD
You can listen to some songs at ashleymarielewis.com.

I've waited for this (Argh, USA stuff, why do you always take so long?!) and today it arrived. \o/

Ash, because she's awesome like that, let me do the booklet. I just need to flail about holding something in my hands that I made in Photoshop. Professionally printed. On shiny paper. Ooooh! *flail*
The backliner turned out darker than I expected, though. Note to self: That pink doesn't work on that background.

What I hear: Ashley Marie Lewis - A Thousand Things

Seeing this made me squee. lol. No one ever posts about me, so I got just a liiiiiiittle excited (Even though I knew you were going to post because you told me, I still got excited!). ;) I made sure to tell the my Mom's friend who printed to watch the darkness (Because you saw how dark the last one was, and that's not how it looked on my computer). I'm actually very pleased with the way it turned out (After printing, that is. You know I loved what you did beforehand!). The only thing that bothered me was the CD face, but I'm not complaining. :) ...The back was a little dark, but I still like it. :)

I hope you like the songs! Please critique when you've listened to it all (Good or bad, I'm all ears). :)

Did you want to do the collage they way I did it? The more I look at it, the more I wonder why I put photos on your face. Would have been better just on the dark parts of the pic. On the other hand, there would have been less space to get all the pics in.

I don't mind that the CD is so dark, it's still readable. But for major distribution (I can't write that without getting excited) I'd choose a lighter color for the websites on the backliner.

I think I understand now why you changed the cityline from your town to LA. It was supposed to be your hometown at first, iirc, right?
So Much More is a good choice as first song.

I really like the melody of the A Thousand Things chorus.

As I said before, the beginning of It's Your Lie reminds me of a Maroon 5 song. You didn't answer if you want me to send you the song. If you're worried about the legality of it, iirc it's okay if it's just to check out the song and you don't keep it.

Just So You Know makes me want to sway wave a lighter.

Breakin' Up Song amuses me, it reminds me of my My Little Pony video cassettes. I think it was from the opening sequence.

I wish I had better music-describing skills, then I could give you a better review.

I did! I think the pics in my face could've been darker in print (They were more visible on the computer (and it was perfect), but had they printed that darker, then the pics that were *supposed* to be darker (outside of my face) would've been too dark. lol (Did that make sense?)... But yes, I wanted them there! Everyone in there is a part of me and my career in some way, and that's why I wanted them in my face, to signify that. (Cheesy, but hey... lol)

...That IS exciting! EEK! :D I'm working on it. It might be a while, but eventually, it *will* be happening! :) ...Lighter pink might work for the websites when the time comes. :)

...Yes, it was supposed to be my skyline, only because I couldn't get to Los Angeles to take a pic. Haha. Originally though, I did want the L.A. one, so I found that stock photo, and it worked out perfectly. :) Now that you've heard "So Much More", you totally get why I wanted that skyline. ;) (Thank you, by the way- I'm glad you like that one listed first! I've gotten a few comments from people, like my brother, who don't think it was a good opening song because it doesn't grab your attention enough. The thing is, there was no doubt, when I heard the demo of that song, that I was naming my album after it because it fits me perfectly... I hate when artists name an album after a song on it and then put that song anywhere but the first track, so that's why I did it. It tells my story, and that's how I wanted to open my 'book'.) :)

..."A Thousand Things" is one of my favorites. The writers of that song also wrote "So Much More" (and one of them wrote "Junebugs In July", too. Needless to say, I love those writers. lol).

...Ooh yes, I'd love to hear it! I completely forgot! :X

..."Just So You Know", when that song was pitched to me, I cried and said I had to make it mine. I've been in love with this guy (Who's one of my best friends) since freshman year of high school (11 years!)... That song was recorded for him.

..."Breakin' Up Song" was co-written by a guy who co-wrote "She's Everything", which is a Country song recorded by Brad Paisley, which went to #1!!! :D

...That's a GREAT review! :) I appreciate you taking the time to write it! :)

I don't like it in general when an album is named after a song. All the confusion, haha! But yeah, since the song So Much More is a "this is me", it's perfect as the first song on the album.

I'll send you the link to the Maroon 5 song. Can't send the song itself, the file is too big for my mail program.

Your comment reads a bit like an interview, heh. I love me some info!

I have a possibly stupid question: What's a label code? Is that the number under the barcode on your album? Hm, now that I've asked this question it feels kind of familiar.
