Hmpf, my (tube) TV is giving up the ghost. It goes dark and stays for some time (or not very long) and comes back... for now. I'll have to get a new one! D:
Can't get tubes anymore, right? Dammit. I don't know what I should look for. I know I want picture quality, but I guess there are other things that are important too. Like the price! It shouldn't be too expensive.
Sooo... what's good? And do some things just depend on settings? I know 2 people who have flatscreen TVs and I think both TVs' pictures aren't worth the money. It can't all be because I haven't seen HD there, right? Okay, so the TV has to show a small picture on a big screen, but it all depends on how it's done, it should be possible to get a good picture without HD.
I can't remember if my friend's TV does it, but my sister's does: It does something from frame to frame that makes the movesments look different and I don't like it. It makes it look like a cheap soap. I think this effect originally (you know, when it's not the TV faking it) comes from the kind of camera used, I think it has something to do with the number of frames. If you know what I'm talking about, can you tell me if - for a TV - it is a setting thing or has to do with the type of TV?
