What I forgot in my fangirly previous post was to mention that I obviously hoped it would be a good song. Oh well, it's not gonna change the song, so whatever.
Let me picspam you to give you an idea of my reaction when I was listening to Survival for the first time:

Meanwhile at Muse HQ.

I'm so disappointed. And there are people defending the song! Hey, if you like the song, good for you! But I hate it when people come up with completely stupid arguments and try to invalidate my opinion. That's something that's very wrong with Muse fandom, people just can't leave other people have their own opinions.

Now why do I hate that song? Because it sounds shit, simple as that. As I was listening to the song I was waiting for it to get better, but it never did. Matt's singing is weird, never heard his voice like that, almost didn't recognize it. I prefer his pre-Resistance singing, but I think what he tried in Survival has the potential to sound good - it just doesn't in the song.

Why I want to to be good, let me count the ways: 1. I love Muse, so obviously I'd really like to like that song. 2. The last thing we got from Muse was the trolltastic Neutron Star Collision - something faithrestoring following it would have been nice. 3. It's for the fucking Olympics! It's gonna be heard all over the world and they deliver this piece of shit?! You can do that with Twilight, guys, but we're talking about the Olympic Games here! 4. I can't help it, I'm taking this as an indicator for the rest of the album, and fuck, now I'm really worried. I really thought we were past the ridiculousness that was The Resistance era.

How I feel: depressed
What I hear: not Survival - hearing it twice was bad enough
Where I am: Grumpyville
