North Sea coast vacation - day 4. Norderney! \o/
The rabbit was back in the backyard and this time I got pictures.

Apparently it lives under the garage.

Pokéballs

Holy kites, Batman!

Model of the ferry.

Dom from Muse would like this case.

Kites as seen from the ferry.

Norderney

This thing reminded me of the Origin of Symmetry cover.

Trees in the water? o_O

Seals!

Almost there.

The dunes! \o/

Are you my mommy?

Have I mentioned that I had visited the island once before? That's about 15 years ago now. It was the best class trip ever. Coniferous trees growing in sand, "110 - ruf an, wir sind für jeden Spaß zu haben!" (roughly translated: "911 - call us, we're game for anything!") written on a phonebooth wall, wandering along the beach in the dark, a girl saw a light in the sky and swore it followed her (subsequently my BFF and I renamed Fridays to UFO-Fridays, because that's when discos used to shine spotlight skywards), dunes, rabbits living in the wild!

This is the school across from the place where our class had stayed.

Our class was the last one to stay there, after us the place was closed. There's a cheap clothing store there now.

We took a taxi to the lighthouse.

We ate at the restaurant that's next to the lighthouse.

Ceiling birds are watching you eat.

A treat for Martin Crieff! The most delicious sour cream and North Sea shrimp!

Kidney-shaped spoon. ô_o

View of the dunes from the lighthouse.

Then we wandered through the dunes and looked for rabbits. Not very succesfully at first.

Rabbit burrows everywhere!

I like close-ups.

...Can you tell?

Duuuuunes. I love them.

Where's Waldo the rabbit?

Rabbit!

Then, instead of going to the beach , we got a taxi back into the town center.

Because we had a ferry to catch. The last ferry leaves 6pm! Dammit, why does staying on the island have to be so expensive? Just visiting by ferry (which is also expensive) doesn't leave you with enough time to spend on the island!

That on the right, across the street is where the building was in which our class had stayed.

It was Father's Day, which is the day when men in general go for a hike and get drunk.

In the town center I went looking for familiar things and I think I recognized some shops (although only the buildings are the same, not the shops themselves). But I didn't find the phonebooths. :o(

We saw more rabbits on this town meadow than in the dunes!

Decorative hydrant is decorative. I wonder what's the deal with these things. I've seen one in Dresden with the same decoration, I think.

And back to the mainland. Ooh, look, they did a wordplay, hee.

You know how when you're driving along there are always these pesky trees jumping into your view? But this one is actually a successful picture.

And then I noticed I had a sunburn. :o/
