This is what I sent LJ (I think I managed to word it not too badly):
And this is the not too unhelpful reply I got:
The reply I have written so far:
On November 5, 2012 I decided to buy one more year of my Sherlock userhead and - as I had some money in my PayPal account at that time - a second userhead for later use. I remember it said that userheads are nonrefundable, but I had read all of the information on userheads that I could find, but there had been nothing about when the year starts. So I assumed I could start the year after my Sherlock userhead expired. Could you please change the startdate of my second userhead to November 5, 2013 or - if that's not possible - give me my money back?
And this is the not too unhelpful reply I got:
Thank you for your inquiry. All purchases in the LiveJournal shop for your account (paid time, userheads, etc) begin on the date that you make the purchase. In cases where you already have the item you purchased, your expiration date is extended by the amount time purchased.
So in this case, you already had the userhead, though it would have expired in a couple of days at that time you made the purchase. (You purchased it on Nov 5, but it was set to expire on Nov 7.) So the year that you purchased was added onto the existing expiration, yielding the current expiration date for the userhead of Nov 7, 2013.
I'm sorry, but we cannot extend the expiration date, as this is the normal behavior of purchased userheads. They continue to use the year of purchased time, even if they are not being used as the active userhead.
The reply I have written so far:
Everything is fine with the Nov 7, 2013 expiration date. The problem is the other userhead, that expires November 5, 2013. As you can't extend the expiration date of this one,And then I want suggest (in case they don't think of it themselves - if it's even possible) that they take away the November-5-2013 userhead and give it back on November 7, 2013 or give me my money back (I'd also accept it in LJ Tokens). But I don't know how to phrase it. Help?
