We finally got our copy of Lemons and Landmarks \o/! It's so cool to see all the places (Well, dammit, now I have the desire to travel the world!) from which people (Woo, more males participated in this than I had expected! :oD) have sent in photos! And so many people from Dresden, heee. Also, there are some funny pictures, more heee. It makes me said that there's a picture of our lemon-squeezer building, but neither a half lemon held over it nor a mention of the building's nickname.
The Photoshopper side of me won't shut up when I'm looking at this pdf :o/. I wish I had worked more on the project (although lemonating lemonless pictures was an annoying load of work), there are photos that need brightening, a letter that would have been easier to read in a higher resolution and text at an angle that I could have made look unwobbly.
Looking at the place names makes me cringe sometimes, because I made these pictures and some seem to be wrong. There are 2 French place names that have hyphens in them, but in the fans's messages there's no hyphen in the place name. Did I incorrectly use hyphens? I don't dare checking Wikipidia or anything. Okay, I just copied the names from the list I had been given, so they're not really my mistakes, but it bothers me anyway! Also, where did Ffestiniog's 2nd f go in my image?! Forgive me, Ffestiniog!
Oh hey, funny thing: I had never heard of Großräschen until I made an image for it for this project. Later I met up with Dresden Sherlockians (some of whom had participated in the project) and 2 of them talked about this Großräschen place (which is German, but not in the same federal state as Dresden). I asked if the Großräschen contribution came from them, but no. Now I just read the pdf and the person who had sent in the Großräschen photo had also sent in Dresden photos, heh.
And I have just noticed how funny the German place name Worms must look to English speakers.
There are categories at the end for pictures of non-places. Lost pets, lost in space (Daleks, TARDIS, R2D2), lost peaople and lost marbles. XD
I don't know why I was credited as Maria Brandt (Maybe one of the changes from the version that only John Finnemore and Co. got?), but whatever. People aren't getting my real name, so I like that.
