Things constantly remind me of fandoms, so when I showered this moring and the water pressure was annoyingly low, at least it did the good thing of reminding me of Lost, hee.
Then I put on my Touriarty outfit, including chewing gum, iPod (paused at the last part of The Thieving Magpie) and my IOU earrings.
At noon sis and I went to the Tower of London. Whoa, 21.45 Pounds per person! But I just had to pay it, I had to realize my plan.
While in line I noticed a dumpster...
Is this what British organic-waste bins are called?
It was raining, my shoes were already soaked, but at least my head was dry thanks to my London cap.
I'm totally not up to anything.
We wandered through the place and I didn't care much about anything. Wet feet are seriously annoying and the cap gave me a headache.
I looked all over the place, hoping to recognize something from The Reichenbach Fall. It should have seen easy, seeing as I recognized St. Bart's so easily yesterday. Only when we left the Tower it occurred to me that it's probably too busy to allow filming. And some days later I found out that they actually filmed those scenes at Cardiff Castle.
That definitely isn't the entry we saw on Sherlock.
Inside the queuing continued. Unlike on Sherlock they had no metal detector, btw. We wandered in a queue through boring but pretty rooms (I mean, there seemed to be actual fabric on the wall, not just mere wallpaper). Had Sherlock's version of the Tower been like that, Moriarty would have offed himself out of boredom before he got even close to the Crown Jewels.
Then we finally got to the bling, which is not all together in one glass case. The room is purple and the crowns are in a line that has moving walkways on both sides. The Imperial Crown has a room to itself. I wanted to listen to The Thieving Magpie while looking at it, but unfortunately I didn't do it sneakily enough and was told to put it away :o(. Dammit, it was just a simple iPod, it can't even take photos!
My sister's phone can take photos, though. Muahahahaha!
Then we left the Tower and went into its outside souvenir shop. There I found a Union-Jack cushion like Sherlock & John's, heeee.
Argh, 30 Pounds - but I had to.
The Sherlockian fangirling continued by taking the District Line from Tower Hill to Embankment and then the Northern Line to Euston. I already recognized the area when we were at the intersection of North Gower Street, without even having seen Speedy's. My brain can be surprisingly cool - recognizing the place although I haven't seen it from that POV before.
A more familiar perspective.
We went into Speedy's (All the Sherlock pics hanging there!) and were placed at the coolest table ever. Because I was sitting next to someone dressed as the 11th Doctor XD. I wanted to talk to her, but I was too shy.
Ah, fooood.
Across from Eleven sat a blonde girl with a sort of John haircut and a Sherlock shirt. Damn my inability to just talk to people! I asked my sister, but she refused *sigh*. Only seeing John girl's Muse tote bag finally made me say something. We talked, we fangirled, we took pictures. :oD
Her Muse bag and mine.
Oh no, the sonic screwdriver - my weakness! But to be fair to myself, it is my only weakness.
Then we shortly fangirled with an international group of fangirls at another table. Hee, one of them was from Germany (Kiel). I gave one of them my tumblr. Can't remember whom. Haven't heard from them since.
Oh god, apprarently there was a convention somewhere! I've always wanted to go to one, but since they cost lots of money and I can't find anyone to accompany me, I don't even bother finding out when or where cons happen.
Aw, Sherlock's not home.
Sis and I went back to our hotel to dry our feet.

After putting on fresh socks & jeans, blow-drying my shoes and putting my umbrella in my bag, we continued our touristy adventures. The umbrella wasn't needed anymore though, because it had stopped raining. But the ground was still wet and so got our feet again.
I bought myself some cheap socks and a pair of boots.
Oh god, having dry feet is such a wonderful and underrated feeling!
We went through some shops and then had coffee in a café at Golden Square. Through the window I saw a radio station that I know thanks to my career as a Muse fan.

I needed to safe my photos and videos somewhere, but stupidly had taken CDs with me instead of DVDs. So we went to by me some blank DVDs.
But I bought a 16GB USB stick instead.
Look at all the sensible purchases I made! Well, that was until the souvenir shop. I just wanted to buy postcards and stamps, but I found a tartan dress. Oh god, I love tartan, it's my favorite pattern. I can't resist tartan! Logic told me that one day I would to give in to my tartan addiction and I should better do it now and be over with it. And what if the next time (next year's Edinburgh vacation is already being planned) there wouldn't be such a wonderful dress? I mean, it's a dress with elastic band under the boobs, but enough fabric above it, so that my boobs don't fall out! This is too rare! And it's a pretty dress that has sleeves! Too many otherwise great dresses are sleeveless.
Totally worth the 45 Pounds.
I have a better picture of it on day 6.
