It's so nice to hear CAM say his name the way he would actually pronounce it.
AHA! They furnished the appearance of the blackmail info with a sound to make us even more believe that the glasses are a tech thing.
And I'm still wondering about the exact meaning of normal porn preference. Is it something that the public wouldn't freak out over? Something that the potential blackmailee wouldn't be too bothered to abmit to in public?
"I have an excellent memory." Oh god, at first I thought this was an ironic statement, but now the literality is punching me in the face.
I like how we got to see the inside of a mind palace in the previous episode as a preparation for this one.
Magnussen licks Lady Smallwood's face and all I could think was that if Jim had done that, it would have been so much better. I bet he even could have kept it classier somehow.
Ha, when I first saw the episode, I thought that there must be something important about that billboard, but I didn't figure it out. Now I can see it: Information is power.
John saying that he's looking for a friend, a specific one - he's not just browsing reminded me of the Doctor when he announced that he's looking for a blonde, a specific one - he didn't just wake up with a craving this morning. Hey, that was a Moffat episode too.
Gotta love a bit of badass John.
Unsurprisingly we find Sherlock in this place. Ha, I would have been disappointed, if we had gone to a crack house without finding him there.
Love the delivery of "Well, I'm not now!" and it reminds me of Cabin Pressure again, because the actor is the same and the words were similar: "Though not now." Martin said in reply to something about Douglas having been a captain. Can't remember the episode, but I think it was Ipswich (which had the Cabbie actor, hee).
I'm kind of torn between liking and disliking that Molly slaps Sherlock for having taken drugs. I like it because I'm disappointed in Sherlock. I dislike it as a pacifist and someone who's for gender equality. A man slapping a woman wouldn't be okay, which is a double standard. Either it's okay to slap people no matter what the gender of the participants is or it's not.
I find it weird that Molly's engangement only ended in this episode. I imagine it would have something to do with Sherlock's return (I can't think of any other reason except that sometimes engagements just end, but then what would be the point of bringing up the engagement in the first place), so I would have expected it sooner.
I wonder if we're ever going to see Billy again. We can't have too many deduction-talented people on the show or it gets weird. Actually I'm wondering why we saw Billy at all. Not that I'm complaining though, because I really like him.
So... Oklahoma. Are their parents just travelling or do they actually live there? Would explain better how the boys manage to avoid them.
"Don't reply, just look frightened and scuttle." I love it a bit.
Sherlock points out that Magnussen calls it pressure point. Does that mean it's not commonly used? Well, I would have thought it's more commonly called leverage, but I could be wrong, after all English isn't my native language. So is there a connection to Jim? I can imagine Magnussen consulting Jim on how to get information on someone.
Do people actually bother to weigh themselves all the time?
Oh, the news in the background about the MP John Garvie! That was one of the people from the first scene!
Heh, in his shock that Sherlock keeps playing with people's feelings John just throws the coffee mugs down.
That fucking elevator is on the outside of a very high building and transparent! Some architects are fucking cruel.
Well, shit, after finalproblem's magic-plant posts I can't watch the plant moving without laughing.
And then Sherlock repeats the word control, which remind me of Cabin Pressure and Martin saying something like "Control, I have it. I have control.".
Aw, now that I pay attention to the soundtrack, I can also hear that this must be Jim.
I love the movement he makes after "just die, why can't you".
Aw, there's the "off you pop" again. And "You're gonna love being dead, Sherlock. No one ever bothers you." just feels so very, very right. I can imagine this coming from actual dead Jim.
Oh, the things Andrew Scott does with his voice! And why does the way he says "buckets and buckets" sound so familiar? It reminds me of the way someone else is speaking, but I absolutely can't remember who. Never mind, I just remembered and exclaimed "OMG". Hahaha, it's a German actor/comedian. Winnetouch (played by Michael "Bully" Herbig) in Der Schuh des Manitou sound like that when he's sulky. XD
"Oh, you're not getting better, are you? Was it something I said?" ♥
When Sherlock is climbing the stairs, he does look a bit like the Moffat kid, so that was actually a nice casting choice.
Hm, now that I'm rewatching the episode, I see that the metas I've read about Mary not meaning to kill Sherlock were right. It's interesting how in the previous episode Sholto said "I have a gun in my hand and a lifetime of unfortunate reflexes." and I suspect that, just like showing us the mind palace, it was in preparation for this episode. The 2nd meta explains why she looked less happy in the hospital, when John can't see her face.
"We could have been friends." says Janine and reminds me of Jim. Jim and Sherlock could have been friends too *sniff*. Naturally, in my hope for Sebby or siblings of Jim, I was totally gonna grasp the Irish-accented straw that is Janine. I'm not exactly believing it, but it is a nice thought that she could be Jim's sister. And imagine my delight, when I noticed that the name's even somewhat similar to James. Which is a requirement, seeing as ACD's Moriarty brothers are all named James.
Oh dear, Lestrade still hasn't given up his bad habit of recording occurrences of out-of-it Sherlock.
I don't know if I would have noticed it myself and I'm worried that I wouldn't have (I think I previously only noticed John), because it's such a great moment! But I've seen it pointed out on Tumblr that during the "Who would he bother protecting?" scene all 3 people for whom Sherlock jumped off Barts were there. My god, they still don't know! Because Mofftiss have to fucking drag it out. Season 4 better be fucking awesome!
Hehe, I like John's face when he notices that his armchair is back. And then he seems to figure out that it was Mary who shot Sherlock.
"Am I happy too? I haven't checked."
Did I notice before that the newspaper reports the suicide of Lady Smallwood's husband? I thought we only found out about that later.
Mummy calls Mycroft "Mikey", heee. So there are actually other people who call Mycroft "Mike" and Mummy is one of them.
Oh, so the countdown was for how long until the drugs take effect.
I only thought about what AG means, but not RA. Well, actually I didn’t think about the AG, I just remembered A.G. Doren from Alias. Anyway, you can slide the USB drive apart - what if it shows additional letters there? Like MO befrore the RA. The missing N would be on the missing cap. The excessive dots could be explained away with the writer having a quirk. Not that I think there is a cap, the sliding apart probably functions as a cap. Not that I think this theory is true. It's just for fun. But what could still be true is a connection to Jim. What if there's info on that drive that Mary used to work for Jim?
"Perhaps there was something in the punch." OH MY GOD, MYCROFT CALLED IT.
Poor Mycroft must have been so absolutely terrified when Sherlock shot Magnussen and there were people with guns aiming at Sherlock. Hm... why am I feeling for Mycroft, but not for Sherlock?
Let me present you my crack theory about who the third Holmes brother is. So Mummy is a math genius and wrote a book that has "dynamics" in the title. ACD's Moriarty was a math genius and the author of Dynamics of an Asteroid. So obviously that makes Jim the third brother.
Mary's big, red coat is back. Oh, is that why they chose a big coat, so it would still fit when she's pregnant?
Oh god, the noise I made when the post-credits scene appeared!
Holy shit, I just discovered that on the computer I can pause a DVD menu.
