Sherlock announcementception
So we still don't know when the official Sherlock con will be. The #221back hashtag on Twitter seemed promising, even if it ended its first day only with the announcement that the announcement would be made on the following day. And then it turned out to be about a special and the new season. Because I was desperately awaiting convention info, the announcement of 4 new episodes actually made me feel very much let down.

Then the Sherlock con's Twitter made the annoucement that there'd be an announcement the next day. Frustratingly that too turned out to be neither date, venue nor guests info. Instead they announced a preview for the 12th. At a convention, so not everybody will even get to see it. I mean, I'm sure fans will get the info out to us (if there's anything informative), but it would be nice to get it directly. I'm torn between believing and not believing that we'll get specifics from this preview.

I guess this preview is more about that you will see what it will be at the real con - Moffat and Gatiss and Sue sitting there and answering questions about how to make Sherlock, all the kind of background information. Which I just realize again, I am not really interested in. I just watch the show without discussiong every detail. Guess I am not a real fan then.

The set of Baker Street looks nice. Would be nice if you could take pictures sitting on the sofa, but I pretty much doubt that... The longer they wait to announce the date, the less people will be able to come, as nobody can plan vacation on such short notice. I won't have time or money anyway.

But thank you for the heads up, I am still following the news and I really hope this will be great.

I love me some background information, but Mofftiss and Sue talk about that stuff all the time, so if they're the only guests that would be really boring. And Mofftiss are the writers, so I expect people would would asked them about the unresolved things from season 2 and 3 - but some of them will probably be answered on the show, so they'll reply with some bullshitting between real answers and we won't be able to tell what's true and what isn't.

Yes, it would be super cool to take pictures in front of the sofa! But just seeing it live would alse be great.

I know, but from what I've read the organizers don't care about people from further away. They think enough people will make it on short notice.

I know someone who is going to that Preview so we might hear more about it afterwards. And you are totally right about them lying or giving wrong information.

I'm sure there are some that will do everything to be there, just not me. I have travelled enough this year. I probably would if I was a really devoted fan.
