My plan for NYE was to do nothing interesting and in the morning watch CNN's NYE, because Anderson Cooper is good for the soul. But because in my mom's area there are some idiots who like to fire off firecrackers until morning, my mom asked me if she and her cat could stay at my apartment. So I wouldn't get to watch CNN at stupid o'clock, but spending time with my mom and her cat is always nice.
She has problems with her hindlegs, so mom and I were surprised when Lola had jumped up my bed.
After mom & cat arrived and before it got dark and more fireworky, I went to my sister's apartment. She and her boyfriend were in New York (a Christmas present from him) and I had to take care of her cat.
Sister's Christmas tree.
Back at my apartment my mom and I lit some sparklers on my balcony. We stuck them into a clogged drain pipe in the railing, but one sparkler slid in. After a few seconds the panels started glowing where they met the pipe. But by then I had already brought a beaker of water. Phew, that was close!
Because I was tired, we already ate our NYE snack at 22:30.

I went to bed before midnight, but once again I couldn't fall asleep despite being tired, hmph. And at midnight it got too loud to sleep. But with the view it wasn't even worth being awake:

About 0:30 we went to bed again. At 1:something I was woken for a bit by Lola meowing. I wonder where she learned meowing like that. She's an old cat and all the time we've known her she always made soft "ee!ow"s. 2014 she suddenly started properly and loudly meowing.
Then at 2:30 I was awoken by Lola again. This time she jumped on my bed. Mom was awake too and we both couldn't fall back asleep, so she said it's okay if I turn on the TV. So I got to watch CNN's NYE after all.
Shortly after 5:30 my mom and Lola went home. She wanted to take a taxi, but it's the busiest taxi night of the year and she couldn't get one, so she had to take the bus.
In the afternoon mom and I went to my sister's apartment I took my sister's cat and some cat stuff to my apartment, so I wouldn't have to leave the apartment every day while my sister is in New York.
Aw, with the cat stuff sis had left a new pair of slippers for me, because my old pair was falling apart.
Climb on all the high places!
