Last week I posted the trailer, now I should post my interpretation. Once I've seen the movie, it should be interesting to see what I used to make of the trailer.

First of all: The music! Hearing that piece again fills me with emotions. I just assumed the planet is Tatooine, but apparently it's been officially stated that this is a new planet, which makes this trailer a bit less retro than I thought. Look at that Star Destroyer wreck! It's so weird to see it lying in the sand instead of flying through space. But I like the positivity of the whole scene.

Creepy charred Darth Vader mask. I wonder why we see it. I assumed it would have been buried with Vader's remains. Although it would make sense if Luke had put it in a museum. And who is it holding it now?
Sooo... that voice over. Only after I had seen this trailer I finally watched the original trilogy in English, so when I watched the trailer for the first time, I could only assume that they've taken this monolog straight from Return of the Jedi.
The scene with R2 is something that didn't even really register at first. There's a person and judging by the hand and the place in the monolog, it's Luke. I wonder what the hood is about. Who are you hiding from?
I thought during the "my sister has it" scene we're seeing the lightsaber being given to Rey. Apparently this is Luke's lightsaber. What, did someone fish it out of the clouds of Bespin? How would you even manage to find it? And I'm wondering how gas planets even work. I mean, I know the gas gets denser towards the center (Shouldn't that make it liquid?), but uh. Goddammit, me and my physics dumbness! The question is: How far could the lightsaber sink? Would it float on gas that's too dense? Or should it fall into it and be crushed? Um, anyway, it sort of seems someone is collecting artefacts of the war. And then the "you have that power too" line punches you in the face. Because of that line I assumed the hand we see taking that lightsaber is Rey's, who has to be the daughter of Leia or Luke (if that line is from the movie and not just for the trailer, I think she's Luke's kid, because otherwise it would have been more likely to be worded "you mother has it"), because her eyes look a lot like Padmé's. And I'm pretty sure these are young hands. The analysis panel at the Star Wars Celebration has interpreted that as being Leia's hand, because we see it when the sister line is said. Oh god, I really wonder what the state of the Jedi is like now! Especially in the family. Seriously, if Leia doesn't wield a lightsaber, I'll be very sad. Speaking of sad things: This voice over suggests that Rey only learns about the Force now. Hey, I'm not saying you have to put your kids into Jedi boarding school, but teach your kids early!

X-Wings over a lake! This green environment makes me think of Alderaan. Gah, we'll never get to properly see that planet! If it's another planet we know, how about Naboo? While I want that planet free of battles, I'd like to see it again. I really wonder what Luke and Leia know about their parents by now, especially about Padmé.
Look at that pilot looking retro, aw yeah.

Rey the Luke(-or-Leia)-offspring on a desert planet and you're telling me it's not Tatooine? It just seems so wrong. Whatshisname isn't in a Stormtrooper outfit - hm, maybe he isn't a Stormtrooper. And are Stormtroopers good or bad guys now? There could be good and bad ones. And then I even wondered if BB-8 is a good guy. I mean, I assumed her (Is she a she? In my mind she is. We deserve an important droid who's female.) to be good, but she might as well be a baddie.

Without new movies I could have just gone on believing it's all love, peace and harmony after the Battle of Endor. I wonder what the political situation is like now. Here we have Stormtroopers who must be bad, judging by the Sith in the foreground. What makes me uneasy is that we see a Sith, but no Jedi action.
Aaand here it gets worse. It seems we have a whole cult or whatever. With a new logo. It would surprise me very much, if these Stormtroopers turned out to be good guys.

We see Rey looking up, which (although the lighting doesn't even match) my mind has decided is a continuation of the lightsaber-giving scene.

TIE Fighters in action! Exploding TIE Fighters! An upside-down Stormtrooper (hehe)! It looks like that flying TIE Fighter is having a shootout with the Stormtroopers.
Maybe Whatshisname disguised himself as a Stormtrooper and then with a TIE Fighter attacked TIE Fighters and real Stormtroopers?
A flying Star Destroyer!
I have a bit of an attention problem, so at first I thought we're seeing the Sith (whose name was announced, but I've forgotten it) again (I did wonder about a Sith with a rifle), but then I noticed that this mask looks different and like a Stormtrooper's (now the gun makes sense).

Ooh, BB-8 is onboard the Falcon.

Wooh, the Millenium Falcon in action! And we have some flying into tight spaces again! Is this the Stormtrooper in black or the Sith or someone else?

And here comes the part where I cried: After 30 years we see Chewie and Han again! I had assumed with the "we're home" Han means the planet, but then I saw that analysis panel and these guys said it looks like Han and Chewie are talking about the ship (hm, only just getting it back could explain why Chewie is holding a gun). Oh god, this is just as bad as the Veronica Mars movie! You think your OTP Veronica/detective work had been together all this time and then you find out they hadn't! D:
