- There are a lot of things I don't get about Tumblr, let me just mention 2 of them. I totally don't get the appeal of character/reader fics. I also don't get what's so fun about reusing incorrect quotes over and over for various fandoms and characters. That gets old really fast.

- I accidentally made a Loki icon, so now I have to make more, because I can't stand not having enough icons for a proper post. But the good news is that managed to make an icon again and it didn't turn out too simple.

- WTF was wrong with my Tumblr layout that I had to put in CSS telling some 540px wide image to display as 540px wide?

On Saturday my internet stopped working. I thought it was a problem with my router or the network provider, but yesterday I tried the laptop and there the internet worked. So I worried that Windows was sabotaging my Windows 7 computer (in the past 2 weeks or so it's been regularly crashing after booting) and I'd have to buy a new one. I tried several things to solve the problem, but nothing worked. Then my mom came over with a new WLAN stick and it worked! Huh, didn't even suspect my WLAN stick to be the problem, because when I lost connection, the stick's light was still working. Only hours later it had gone out.

Phew, I'm really glad I don't need a new computer, because I need money for other things. A week and a half after the backpack oil spill I finally dared to take stock of its former contents. Most of the important stuff survived, but I need to replace my loyal camera of 11 years *sigh*. I already got a new backpack (for 80€, WTF? I swear last time I bought the same type it was 25% cheaper), but because of the lockdown there wasn't much choice, so it's a nondescript black one and I feel the need to decorate it.

Which is why I commissioned someone to draw me some fannish doodles, which I can then buy as buttons. I really don't want to pester her (I know, normal people have jobs and a social live and hobbies, so it'll take time), but I can't handle the anticipation, so it would be nice to know where she is in the process.

So the TV-watching year is going well, as you can see from my TV-show memes. Also thanks to Disney+ I've watched more movies in a single month than I usually watch in a whole year. Hey, remember when I used to merely like the MCU? Well, those days are over, I've reached obsession status. I'm currently rewatching all the movies and finally watching those I hadn't seen before. Turns out the spacy ones aren't my kind of thing. The cheap humor of Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: Ragnarok is also a problem.

After every film I want to do fannish stuff, like read others' opinions, bts info and stuff, but I have no idea where to go. LJ & Dw are a bit... well, not dead, but sleepy, let's say. I finally went to Tumblr again, but at first it was too much porn for my taste (Ugh, stop making me feel like a weirdo, people!) and not enough MCU/X-Men crossover stuff. It was so fucking weird to be bored by the internet during a pandemia that has people stuck at home! And I couldn't (and still can't) entertain myself, because I'm taking a break from iconmaking (in a creative low again). But then I found the right tags and now I finally feel fannishly at home again.

The Rowling Library brought back JKR's old website! I loved that site, it was creative, playful and fun. I loved having the sounds and the music in the background while surfing. And trying to figure out how to open the Room-of-Requirement door was always fun. Although I usually failed to find out for myself, and this time I'll also employ help. Now I can cap all the things I didn't get to cap the last time! And it reminded me that there are still things to icon from this website.

So I felt the urge to continue picking that bone with them. Dammit, I've tried to condense my question/argument, but this is the shortest I could get it without removing any of the things I consider important.

The Fall resolution you've given us is nonsense, so many of us have expected to see the real resolution in the next episode, and then the next, and the next. Our hopes were crushed every episode after another, meanwhile more things that didn't make sense were added. Can you understand how frustrating that is and that, if you're playing a long game, it's gone on for too long and is bad writing?

I still lurk on Tumblr and today I checked it before Dreamwidth (where the Sherlock comm has a post about it), so I was surprised to see an announcement for Answertime with Mofftiss. Yeah, I have questions, so why not throw one at them? Well, the idea of interacting - even in that rather indirect way - with someone "important" freaks me out. I'm still feeling a bit shaky. But then I thought "Why the fuck not?! Mofftiss won't probably even see my question. And if they do and they answer, it'll probably be one of those infuriating non-answers. So fuck it, fuck it all and most of all: fuck them!". Not that I'm bitter or anything, haha.

Our city put its archive online, so naturally I wasted several hours today looking through historic images instead of doing things from my to-do list. I collected some of the old picture postcards with the intention of photoshopping the landmark images out, so that only the pretty border drawings are left. I've been meaning to start making resources for ages, so I'm pretty sure I won't begin this postcards project either, hahaha.

I'm just so bitter about the massive disappointment of season 4. For some months I've been off Tumblr (because I couldn't be bothered), but then I went back for some reason. I caught up on finalproblem's theory posts and suddenly I'm all over the show again. It even kinda makes me want to buy the S4 DVDs (or at least finally rewatch the episodes)! It doesn't even matter if her brilliant theories won't make it to canon status - they can be their own thing, like an AU fic. Maybe I should get her posts printed out and put them on my wall, so I won't forget again the joy they bring.

[Error: unknown template qotd]Firefox is my favorite and main browser (I think I chose it because it had the best reviews). I use Chrome too. The great thing about having several browsers is that you can be logged in to different accounts on the same site.

Because, when I looked it up, Internet Explorer was still among the top 3 browsers, I check my layouts in it. But that's all I do, because it's the browser of horror. It's ugly and doesn't function well. Why doesn't hard refresh work in it?! Why does it interpret CSS so weirdly?!
I just checked again and found out that in the last year IE and even Firefox were overtaken by Safari. But I won't install that or Opera, because making layouts work gets harder the more browsers you try it in. So fuck it. Why can't browsers just all use the same layout engine?! Ugh.

Currently trying to find out who to vote for in the mayoral election. The Wahl-O-Mat doesn't do this election, but a newspaper has Wahl-O-Mat-like thing for it.\o/

I got 35% corresponding with the social party candidate, and 33% with the drag queen and with the guy who's my mom's former colleague's son. Need to check my results in depth before I can decide.
