London trip for Muse - day 5 (Sept. 12 2010)
day 1 (Sept. 8 2010)
day 2 (Sept. 9 2010)
day 3 (Sept. 10 2010)
day 4 (Sept. 11 2010)

Maybe the universe thought that so much awesomeness needed to be balanced out. Because once again I didn't sleep very well, argh! It was those stressful dreams again, this time of standing in a huge pushy crowd trying to get to Chris.

And a bit more misery was added by the laptop. It kept crashing when we needed to reschedule the Muser meet that was planned for 4pm at the Subway at Embankment Station (googling a Subway at a subway station isn't fun). Since 4pm was also the start of Chris's football game, we moved the meet up to 3pm and then we'd all go to Barnet, where the game would be. Not that we really knew where that was or how to get there. I packed my Wembley tickets to get them signed, but left my Eurasia flag, because a signature would make it too valuable. I wouldn't be able to wave it at concerts anymore, I'd only keep worrying about losing it.

Ca. 2pm sis, Pokemew and I went to Embankment station and found out that the Subway doesn't exist anymore. See, this is why I thought planning meet ups is a bad idea for people who don't know the place! We sat across from the Starbucks and waited/hoped for Musers to find us.

Meanwhile Chris tweeted an exact address for the game and we weren't sure if this was where we originaly thought it was. My sister went to ask around if anyone knew how to get there, but no luck. And then some Musers found us.

At 3pm we started our journey towards Barnet. We took the Northern Line and got off at Burnt Oak. Hm, feels a bit like home with those funny names. We have places like Wild Man and White Stag. So we (5 Portuguese and 2 Germans) wandered around looking for the Hive. Took a bus, then walked some more. And just when we walked past a bus stop a bus stopped and off got German Muser einafets and 2 other Musers. Ha! Now we had a map, but it didn't help that much.

It was 4:30pm when we finally found the Hive \o/! Then we only had to find the right field. Which - with our luck - was of course the last one we got to.

There were maybe 100 people watching the game.

O hai, #10. Awesome trikots are awesome.

Sitting on the gras wasn't very comfortable and the stupid sun was all IN YOUR FACE! Hmph.
I noticed tubes going past the Hive. Oh god, getting to the Hive was probably much easier. And I think I've seen football pitches from the tube we took to get there.

So, the game! Can't say I remember much about it. But I do remember that Chris scored once or twice. Occasionally fans were chanting "Wolstenholme!" or "Wolstenbeast!" and one time Chris looked over like "You're silly!" and grinned.

The game was over at about 6pm.
Chris walked over to his family. Oh god, his family was there! I hoped that everyone had behaved and would continue behaving. Because, you know, some fans can be a bit stupid. But everyone did behave.

Autograph time! Where is Waldo Chris? Hey, I just noticed I'm in this pic too.

And I was stuck in a moving crowd. It was a bit scary, but not as bad as in my dream. It reminded me more of the concert of the 11th, when there was this current towards the moving platform.

Pokemew got a picture with Chris. Originally I wanted an autograph, but a picture is so much better, so...

My pic with Chris! And Pokemew and her drawing.

What I didn't even notice happening: my sister got her Eurasia flag signed! \o/

We left the Hive and discovered that there was a tube station right there! Hahaha, dammit! OMG, it's the Jubilee line! It would have been so easy to get there. Oh well, at least for the trip back we had this familiar route.

Why, hello there, Wembley Park. Long time no see! XD

Our little Muser meet continued. Two Musers delivered a supercheesy rendition of Neutron Star Collsion. Right there, on the tube!

Picca picca!

Epic cakes.

R2D2!

A Dalek!

Taking unblurry photos in the dark is hard.

Sister's favorite place in London.

Waaaaiiit. Isn't this the place where a Muser stood and sang once?

Hadn't managed to get a picture of this in Edinburgh. But finally! Hehehe.

We were hungry, so we tried to agree on a restaurant, but we couldn't. Sister and I were so sick of fast food, so we split from the group.

After dinner sis and I wandered around the city.

I'm wondering if there's a time agent's ship parked there right now.

Also, like all things I've seen on TV, it's smaller in real life. Also also, the architecture is kind of creepy. Not sure why, but Gothic screeps me out a bit. But...

Isn't that clock face pretty?!

So many colors!

Empty sidewalk is empty. You should have seen the other side! Seriously, it was PACKED!

More pretty.

Also pretty.

Sister and I ran to catch the bus to our hostel. And this is where my superpowers of timing come in. We heard someone at the back of the bus call. We were on the same bus as Pokemew and a friend! Hehe.
