Wizards' Ordinary Magic and Basic Aptitude Test
The Do not disturb sign is gone, the third WOMBAT is there!
Picspammage! (50 pics)

Go to the door of the Room of Requirement and wait for the fly.

Click on the fly and it turns into a key.

Drag the key to the keyhole.

There's the WOMBAT! And the three parts that you need to build the symbol from the British DH cover.

First drag the ring to the stick.

Then the triangle to the stick&ring. Voila!

The symbol moves and you can click the test.

The rules

are meaner this time.

The questions

Finally I can put my custom spoiler CSS to use: Highlight to read my answers and why I chose them.

Number 4 sounds worst, so I checked that one.

I'd say ducking in the village pond is to harmless too provoke a rebellion.

Oh, there I had a real language problem: all of a sudden my brain broke and I didn't quite get what answer 2 is saying. I had to translate first one part and its meaning (appeal against slavery=good) and then the other one (defeat of the appeal=bad). Okay, so number 2 sounds most damaging.

I have no idea. I checked number 5...because I didn't really read it *headdesk*. I mean, it's partly true...some beings shouldn't carry wands, but there are some who aren't allowed but should be.

Whoa, 10 answers to choose from! 1 sounds like it could be true, but I didn't choose that one. Well, to me everything but the WWII and the Sorting Hat thing sounds like it could be true.

My guesses were: Slytherin reconciled with the other Founders (because aww!), Great Fire of London started by a dragon and goblin rebel=renegade house-elf.

Oh, this was good. Six questions and six answers. Here I picked number 6, because it sounded medieval-y.

Shouldn't the question say 'Minister for Magic'? Anyway, number 4 was my answer.

Uh, number 1?

Hehe, that sounds like the time of protest floats.

Number three?

That leaves number 2 for Fudge, which seems to fit the time.

I said true, but there are probably countries that are so tiny that it's probably false. I can't think under pressure...it's the time limit's fault!

It's possible, I guess.

True? I remember it was mentioned in OotP(?) that they're banned in Britain, but no idea about other countries.

Could be true, but just because I hadn't checked false yet, I chose false. LOL, yeah, that's some clever decision-making!

OMG, how I love it, when I really know an answer! True.

I can imagine that this is true.

Because there are some really tiny countries, I say it's false.

I think that makes sense, so: true.

False, because it would make things too complicated.

Hmmmm...Could be true, could be false. Was a really hard decision. I chose true. I think I'm wrong.

Number 4, I'd say.

I'm quite sure 1 is true and 2 is false, but if 2 is false, it means 3 is correct, which would make 1 incorrect. So I chose 3.

Number 1. Bezoar!

As far as I remember, 1-3 are possible, but I think number 4 isn't.

Number 3 and 5 make sense.

Number 4. I remember Jo posted it somewhere (FAQ?).

If number 1 were true it would be no fair. So I checked that answer.

Yay, easy questions! Riddikulus!

Expecto Patronum

sunlight

Uh, we heard of that thing, but haven't been told the antidone, have we? My guess is Phoenix tears.

Will

Fire

NO CURE! CAPLOCK! LOL

Oh, Jo, I ♥ you and your brain and the rules and history you invented for you story!

You know, I considered answer #3 for question #3, because I remember Jo saying that the giants will be important in the battle. But I didn't choose it, because DH isn't out yet.

Yeah, I think you're right with your answer to queston 4 and if I had read all the answers properly I would've chosen that one too.

I wonder if the 'the oldest building in Diagon Alley is Gringotts...' thing was mentioned anywhere or if I'm imagining things. Either I remember it or my brain likes the idea enough to make up a memory.

Yeah, it's time that the jinx on the DADA post is lifted. Why the hell hasn't this been done before? My memory's really bad - had Dumbledore a reason to not lift it?

If a werewolf mates at the full moon, they will produce a cub rather than a human baby.
Hmmm, this one is interesting. Where does it come from? Fan theory or has it been there long before? So if a female werewolf does it with at the full moon and she gets pregnant, she could give birth to a cub? LOL, that's so crazy XD

Yeah I thought #3 might be the one about the giants since they’re all joining the dark side, and I figured that might cause the most damage in the war

I thought I remembered something about Gringotts being the oldest building on Diagon Alley, but I have no idea where I remember it from. Maybe I just made it up or maybe it’s from the movies…

I don’t remember if Dumbledore had a reason to lift it or not, but I’m rereading the series before DH comes out so if I come across something I’ll be sure to tell you

Also about your answer to 12 I didn’t pick #3 because how do you determine what can or can’t be used for dark arts. I mean technically you can use your wand for dark arts, but you wouldn’t ban the sale of those would you. So that’s why I didn’t pick that answer

I totally guessed on that werewolf one. I had heard nothing about it before so I just took a guess, but now I really want to know what the actually answers is

I think my answer to #8 is wrong, because you could transfigure an inedible object like a rock into say a chicken and then you could eat the chicken. So you technically can make the inedible edible.

For question #6 (sub question 6) about Cornelius Fudge I said the last answer because I thought they might be referencing what happened in OOTP at the Ministry of Magic.

That's some really cool stuff right there. :D I wish I had the patience to answer that many questions. They look pretty hard to me, too.
Are those pics screencaps from J.K. Rowling's homepage? Please excuse my HP-related ignorance, I've only read the first 4 books and a few assorted fanfics, and that was years ago.
fueschgast[personal profile] fueschgast on June 16th, 2007 02:32 pm (UTC)
Yep, those caps are from Jo's website.
And yeah, the question are hard...dammit, those books contain so much information - my memory is too lame too remember all of it.
