A few fandom updates
First official Sherlock convention:
Things are moving forward for this event, we have had to try to work around the guests filming work and as everyone is very busy its been very hard for us to get a date and a venue and get the guests we would like to be able to attend BUT things are now coming together :-)

At this point its looking very good and we should have some great news for you all very soon :-)

One thing we will say we think at this time that the event will be this year and it will come up quite quick and we are looking at the event taking place in the next 3 months so we know which guests are available to attend the con.

Oh god, please be not before early August, because I don't have time! And I hope it won't be announce at such short notice that I won't be able to get everything booked.

Keeley Hawes about The Casual Vacancy:
I read the book, The Casual Vacancy, on holiday, and I absolutely loved it… you read a book, and you always imagine the people you know as the characters. Well, I do. There’s always someone you have in your imagination, and it was amazing to read it with me in it!

I read the script, and then I read the book because I knew I’d have time when I was away, and it was so exciting to be reading a book and be reading about me and put myself into that situation!

There's also a video of the interview, but so far it's not playing for me, so I don't know if there's more than the quote.

Heroes Reborn: Good news, Jack Coleman will be back as Noah Bennet! My source for this is in German.

Thanks for the heads up about the Sherlock con! Why did I not get an e-mail, I signed up for the newsletter? Odd. Did you get one or just read it in the forum?

I don't exactly have time either within the next few monthes, I have vacation planned for July and at the end of August a Stargate con... will they really bring several main actors? Then this will be quite expensive I am afraid.

I saw a link to this forum post on Twitter or Tumblr. They really could have updated people via the newsletter. Not getting any information at all sucks (d'oh, that reminds me that I need to e-mail the data-recovery lab that has my external hard drive). I'm glad there are fans on the forum and are getting information out to the rest of us.

Oh god, how expensive could it get?

I'm looking onto it from the angle that it is an "official" BBC con. Or at least they work together with BBC? Or something? Last time the BBC made an official Doctor Who con, everyone said it was not worth the money. Imagine, they allowed you only to book for Saturdy OR Sunday (as they run the same panels both days) and you even had to chose between either autograph OR picture with Matt Smith. What kind of crazy is that?

So, I wonder, if I not in the end had the better deal with the fan-run con with Benedict Cumberbatch. Granted, I'd love to have a picture with Martin Freeman as well and all the others, but we'll see. They are highly asked Hollywood actors after all.

And if we are talking about an event with 10.000 people then I am not interested anyway. Way too big for my liking.

Oh, how restrictive. And there's no way to cheat by having someone else book the 2nd day or something?

How will we know how big the con will be? If Andrew Scott will be one of the guests, I'd even try and go to a 10,000-people convention.

Btw, if a guest you've come to see drops out of the con, can you get some of your money back?

Your first con ever? It totally depends on the organizer.
Usually, they have it in their contract/regulations that if a guest drops out, you will not get your money back. As you book a ticket for the con and not for that single guest, and they try and get another one instead, and still there are lots of other guests.

The one with Benedict though, after it was unclear whether he would really come or not for a while, Sean actually said he would give our money back to all those that booked specifically for him. He would have done the same for the cons with David Tennant or Matt Smith.

So I guess in this case, when they really try to have the big names, they should have something like that. But I also guess it should not be necessary, as they clearly work their schedule around when they will have time (as opposite to put a date first and then nobody can attend).

So, unless someone gets seriously ill, I think once they have signed the contract, they will keep that weekend free.
