Edinburgh vacation, culture-shock edition
WTF, letter slots. They mean people can look into the apartment from the outside.

I don't think I've seen lightbulb-shaped lightbulbs before that don't have screw ridges.

Iglo is called Bird's Eye here.

I've never seen a window handle like that.

The shower controls have a switch! Outside the bathroom! รด_o

I'm still not used to these big and impractical shower controls.

Built-in closets aren't really a thing in Germany.

I keep having to deal with these impractical faucets in the UK. Y U NO HAVE SINGLE-HANDLE FAUCETS EVERYWHERE?

I'm used to milk in cartons and as 1 liter.

Our sockets don't have switches (Yeah, I know, no actual sockets in this picture. But someone turned off the freezer at night - d'oh, wet wooden floor!). Would be useful if they did, though.

We wanted to fry something and used a bit of this and it smelt disgusting. This is when we realized that it isn't margarine. I don't think frying lard is a thing in Germany.

Huh, how practical. German packaging never lets you know which parts are recyclable and as what.

A weird pretzel vs. a proper pretzel (this one from the German bakery, if I remember correctly).

I've never seen such anonymous bell buttons.

How much younger than I are you? I do remember the two faucet thing from my childhood in Eastern Germany ;)

Personally I do have problems with how the toilets work in the UK. I can never get them to flush properly.

Have you ever been to the Sherlock Holmes Museum in London? The toilet they have is so wonderful and also the sink is so old fashioned:

Well, I remember them too, but I'm not used to them anymore.

No, never been to the Sherlock Holmes museum.
