From Königstein we took the ferry to the other side of the river and walked to Rathen. Man, did we see many animals and interesting plants on the way!
So many bikes!
MacGyvered bells. To keep birds away or something.
Geese!
Goats!
Ginkgo!

Interesting tree fungus.
Interestingly shaped leaves.
So many cacti!

Row of pigeons.
Someone has lots of fancy birds in cages and on the meadow.

What a colorful duck!

Canada geese!

Why did the chicken cross the road?
Butterflies love summer lilac. Try to count the butterflies.
Interesting tree.
Colorful.

I've never seen such a big (finger-sized) caterpillar before! It's a (possibly Small) Elephant Hawk-moth. Seeing the moth version of it would be supercool!

"You stand with me here at the Elbe stream
377km from its spring in the Giant Mountains
712km from its mouth in Cuxhaven"
You are here.
Three grasshoppers on the same blade of grass.
Snail with an interestingly shaped shell.
This boat has wheels!
Dog on cycling tour.

Have I mentioned we're walking through Saxon Switzerland, the German part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains?
Bat house, nana nana nana nana, nana nana nana nana, bat house!
I had no idea how good it was to get out of the sun (which was behind clouds most of the time, dammit) until the next day.
At 17:00 the last paddle steamer of the day passed us. D'oh, we meant to take it.
Ooh, a toad!
High bench is high.

After a bit over an hour we finally arrived at Rathen.
