My outfit. I seriously got these 2 hairpieces (30€ each) just for this.

On the bus 2 guys (late teens or fresh grownups, maybe) walked past me, then one came back and asked me if I'm on my way to Star Wars too. Then he complimented me on my hairstyle.

My mom's outfit. The Force is strong in my family.

Ooh, they had Stormtroopers at the movie theater!

When I came to pose with them, the one on my left told me "not with that shirt". XD
So I showed my allegiance off even more.

Didn't see many dressed-up people. There was a guy in a Darth Maul outfit, but most who were dressed for the occasion wore fan shirts.

We had to sit through 45 minutes of ads, WTF. Is this normal now or did they think they can show more because it's before Star Wars?
One of the trailers was for Star Trek, which made me notice that J.J. is uniting Trek and Wars. I'm not sure if that's one of those things which I've realized before and then forgotten about or something that actually took me that long to notice.

  • I nearly cried when the opening theme started.

  • The scrawl is so super helpful. Finally we know something about the plot \o/! And finally we know what's with the lack of Luke.

  • All the audience reactions were fun. You could hear that with BB-8 it was love at first sight. There was an especially entertaining bunch in the row behind us (they even had party horns).

  • Ha, I was worried I wouldn't see Greg Grunberg, that his face would be hidden by a mask of some kind or other. Man, he got to stand behind Leia! He got to fly an X-Wing!

  • OMFG, I've so seen it coming that they'd kill off a mentor character (because that's what they do) and that it would be one from the original trio! As much as I tried not to cry at that, 2 tears escaped me. And the audience's silence was deafening.

  • OMFG, I got what I wanted! I got an important female character wielding a lightsaber! I got an identity reveal, as I expected. Well, okay, the latter was only hinted at. Rey sure looks like she could be Padmé's granddaughter and combined with her missing family, her Force-sensitivity and Luke trailer voice over "you have that power too" it really looks like she is Luke's daughter. She can't be Leia & Han's, as they didn't recognize her. I wish we knew what happened when. I'm assuming that Rey was born around the time when Ben (Would have expected that name of a Luke kid) went over to the Dark Side, so because Luke went away Leia and Han didn't learn of her existence. And in fear of Rey going bad too, her parents wanted her to grow up without knowing about her power. Though I wonder why Luke couldn't just take her with him. There was no one there to know him and bring up the Force or anything. There was no one there at all, it seems. And how could you just dump your kid?! On a desert planet, because growing up on one is family tradition by now? As is growing up without your parents, apparently. Ooh, wait, the mom! Maybe she's the key here. So maybe they really dumped Rey there with the intention of picking her up again. But Luke was busy being a hermit and if something had happened to the mom then, he wouldn't have known! So neither of them could go and get Rey back. Oh and then there's the lightsaber. OMG, now it belongs to the third generation of Skywalker! I'm pretty sure the scene of Rey getting the lightsaber from Maz isn't the one we saw in the trailer. I wonder if they had recorded a red herring with Leia (I swear it's her taking it) for the trailer, so we wouldn't guess that it's Rey Luke's voiceover is talking to. And we still don't know how that lightsaber was retrieved, because Maz didn't explain when she was asked, argh!

  • Interesting that R2 was snoozing. R2, the droid that remembers, who could tell Luke and Leia about their mom. Or already has? I hope we'll find out in Episode 8 or 9.

  • My god, did Luke even utter a single word? And yet Mark Hamill is the 2nd actor in the credits. XD

  • Because we had watched in German, after the credits the dubbing credits were shown and to my surprise I spotted Philipp Moog. But because people were getting up, I couldn't see the name of the character he voiced. I was surprised that he was apparently in the movie and I hadn't recognized his voice, because really, I should. After all he's the German voice of Ewan's Obi-Wan! I had a crush on his voice because of that. Anyway, the dubbing website doesn't have him listed for the movie and googling didn't turn up any information. To see the credits again, I'd have to go see the movie in German again, argh.

  • Speaking of dubbing: They brought the originals back \o/! Well, except for Ackbar, but you can't blame them for not getting a guy who's been dead for 25 years. They even got the original C-3PO voice (in the prequel trilogy he got a different voice - don't ask me why, I have no idea). Heh, Daniel Craig (about whom I wouldn't know without the dubbing site) was also dubbed by his usual voice actor. But what mindfuckery: Greg Grunberg was dubbed by the voice actor who had dubbed Marshall on Alias. No wonder he didn't sound right to me.
