Info #1: Some of us fans like to follow Muse concerts via Twitter and I make a Twitter list for that. We call it sexy plane (the name comes from misheard lyrics). When I got to Twitter earlier today I thought I was late for the gig, so I only glanced over my timeline before starting my search.

Info #2: I follow Rob Thomas (from Matchbox Twenty) on Twitter and he's always tweeting a song of the day. I keep hoping for his song of the day to be a Muse song.

1+2=3: "Wait, what's a Rob Thomas tweet doing in my search?" I thought when I was looking for tweeters. Usually the retweets at the top of the search page annoy me, but obviously not in this case! I can't believe that on the day Rob Thomas finally tweets a Muse song as his song of the day I overlook the tweet! Good thing I was doing a search for the sexy plane. ...On the other hand, I only overlooked the tweet because I thought I was late for the sexy plane.

ThisIsRobThomas song of the day: APOCALYPSE, PLEASE - MUSE

But that's not all! I tweeted about that and got a reply from a Muser. She wrote "You're a Rob Thomas fan? Let me give you a big squishy hug" - sounds like she's a fan, right? Right. Because she's German I (almost jokingly) asked if she happened to have seen Matchbox Twenty in 2003 in Berlin or in Offenbach. And what did she say? She saw them in Berlin! OMG, I just found a Muser who's been at the same MB20 concert I have been!
It's a small world. XD

Sooo, I got tickets for Muse at Wembley (\o/!!!!), which will be next year on 11th September. Well actually, my sister got them. I got the tickets for the 10th. I don't know why, but I would have liked the 12th better than the 10th. Maybe because I discovered the 12th? Well, we'll see if the 12th happens and if I'll get tickets (Yes, I totally would go to 3 concerts in a row ...hey, I mean, when I'm already there...).

Anyway, I know that this isn't my first concert on a 11th September. I wasn't sure if it was my first or second concert that was on that date, because the first and second were to days in a row, I just didn't remember if it was 10th & 11th or 11th & 12th. I wasn't even sure if it was 2003 or 2004. I didn't keep a diary at the time and I can't find my photos (WTF, where are they?). So I thought about where I could find out the dates. Sadly the website with the old tour dates couldn't help me - it was on Geocities :o(. But then I remembered that I must have written about the concerts to my pen pal. That's how we had become friends - fans of the same band. I write my letters in Word and I keep the docs. HA!
Holy shit, what a detailed report of my journey! I love myself for that. Anyway, the dates were 11th and 12th, 2003. And another reason why Wembley on the 12th would have been cooler.

And if you want to know: the band was Matchbox 20, and I discovered Maroon 5 there because they were the support. What is it with me and bands starting with M? ^^

1. No idea when exactly it was (my sense of time wasn't the best before, but the Muse treasure seriously fucked it up), but it wasn't that long ago that Panic! at the Disco split in half. Brendon and Spencer kept the band name and brought back the sound of the first album. Ryan and Jon now have a name (The Young Veins) and a new song for us. Yeah, not my style. The right part got to keep the band name. Heh, the names of both bands' new songs. New Perspective > Change. I say that about the sound, not the title (although I think I like it also better as a title). Just checked my other flist and saw that the whole song is now up, not just the 30 seconds snippet.

2. Talking of 30 second snippets (well, 36 in this case... getting a flashback to the treasure hunt ^^)... Uprising! ZOMG, Muse/Doctor Who! They prove that my fandom OTP is not just in my head. Ah, the DoctorWhoness of the synth! ♥ \o/

3. I still need to write that review about the new Rob Thomas album.

All the things that are on my fandom to do list are starting to get too much for me.

Reviews to write:
Wir Sind Helden concert
Heroes 2x02
Supernatural 3x01
CSI 8x02
and maybe MB20: Exile On Mainstream

Supernatural reviews to read: 10
CSI reviews to read: 4

Icons for various contests.

And then rl stuff like changing Franzi's brown & blue layout to brown & beige. And I should reply to my penpal's letter before half a year passed again.

I don't know where to start!

Just working on a layout and listening to the TV. There was an ad of their shows on Sat 1. The background music sounded familiar and after a couple of seconds I went *gasp* and *Squeeeeeeeee!!!!11*. How Far We've Come!
That was unexpected. Very pleasant surprise. And then my mom (who somehow didn't hear my squeeing) comes into the room and says "Sat 1, Sat 1!". Hehe, she recognized Rob's voice.

In other TV-related squee news: This week I've been watching a bit RTL 2 and caught some Heroes ads. I think Matt has the same voice as Weiss (which isn't really good news - the voice could sound more like Greg's). But I'm not sure, I don't watch the German version anymore. I should check my DVDs.

OMG, OMG, OMG!
Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cellardoor081! Don't know if I ever would have found out if it hadn't been for your post.

Melisma/Atlantic recording group matchbox twenty have returned to the studio to record their first new material in five years. Grammy-winning producer Steve Lillywhite is overseeing the sessions in L.A., marking the band's first work with the renowned producer – whose credits include the likes of U2, The Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Talking Heads, and many others. The new matchbox twenty tracks – which also mark their first recordings as a foursome – will be included on a retrospective hits collection, "EXILE ON MAINSTREAM," slated for release on October 2nd.

"For the first time, we're all writing as a band," says the band's Grammy-winning lead singer Rob Thomas. "In the past, I would write all the songs and the guys would write all their parts. Now it's a band in the hand. We all fight it out… we fight over melodies and lyrics. It's completely unique from anything we've done before."

WTF?! Has everybody a myspace page? I don't like myspace - those sites are too full and the interesting info (if there is) is hard to find.
Anyway, I had no idea MB20 had a myspace page! ...Maybe just for the time the official website is being redesigned.

New Song: How Far We've Come. I like it! Partly reminds me of Wir sind Helden and also Panic! (and even MB20, can you believe it?! *g*), LOL. How damn awesome is it that I like the song? Because I didn't like More Than You Think You Are too much. Oh, this feeling of excitement, it is soo wonderful! New song, new song!!! Heeee! What a nice surprise. It feels like I've met a very good friend again...after we haven't seen each other for ages.

So, no new album. Ah, whatever! No more solo stuff, the band is recording again - better than nothing! Couple of new songs, YAY!

Matchbox 20 -> Maroon 5
I hadn't heard of Maroon 5 when they were opening for Matchbox 20. And I have to admit I wasn't very interested - I came for MB20, what do I care about that other band? But I liked Maroon 5...really great! I remember how Adam asked us to buy the record if we like the music. As soon as the album was out I bought it.
Album #2 comes this month. Yay!

Ewan McGregor -> Harry Potter
I was a Ewan McGregor fan for some time, but fangirling real people is not for me. Anyway, there was a rumour that Ewan would play Lupin. I had seen the HP movies, but wasn't interested enough to read the books. I asked my pen pal about this Lupin character. I think it was when I visited her that she lend me her copy of Prisoner of Azkaban. Which was a stupid idea...don't start with any part that's not part one! Don't think you know the books if you've seen the films! Anyway, I loved the book (still my favorite of the series) and then bought the others.

CSI -> Supernatural
Okay, that's a bit of a stretch (but not as much as JAG -> Wir sind Helden would be. Wanna hear the story?). All over LJ there are Supernatural fans, but the one nearest to me - [livejournal.com profile] kimonkey7 - had some real influence (though I don't really remember how - maybe that endless squeeing about the show's awesomeness). [livejournal.com profile] kimonkey7 is on my friendslist for CSI and our silly project ^^.

Alias -> Heroes
Oh, I loved Weiss so much! My favorite character, and I was constantly ranting about how he needs more screentime ("More Weiss!"). But then there was hope: Greg Grunberg got a role in a new show called Heroes. That must be the earliest time in the existence of a show that I wanted to see. And yay: a lot of Matt!

Lord of the Rings -> Lost
I had a couple of reasons to start watching Lost, so maybe this one's a stretch too. One of those reasons was Dominic Monaghan. He hadn't been my favorite Hobbit, but he had been a hobbit.

Nettes meme bei [livejournal.com profile] omaetoy gefunden:

Here are the rules: Answer all the questions with the song titles of one band/group/artist. Multiple albums are fine (recommended, in fact). State the band/group/artist you're using in the subject line. Perty simple.

Use songs whose titles answer the question, not songs whose lyrics do. Not all of us know these songs, so its not as fun.

Covers are NOT legit unless it is on a normal (non-live) CD.

For a true 10 questions challenge, do this without the aid of the internet/CDs/outside sources.
