There's a new My Little Pony series, I found out about that because many people on LJ seem to be crazy about it. But, although I loved it as a kid, I didn't care. It looked too different.
Then two weeks ago I zapped into a Friendship is Magic episode. For some reason it didn't even occur to me that the show would be dubbed and shown here. I watched the episode and wasn't impressed. It was so different, the style, the characters were... crazier.
Later I looked up the My Little Pony memes and found the first episode linked. I watched it and was skeptical for most of the time, but towards the end I started to like it. Ahahaha,
Granny Smith!
I also researched the new and the old series. Prior to that I had no idea what else there was, I only knew
The End of Flutter Valley (I still have the video cassettes in the basement).
And now I finally know the name of the pony I had! I was so sure it had been purple, so finding it was a bit hard. It was
Wave Runner and pink. I recognized two other ponies,
Raincurl and
Sports-time. I thought my sister and had only had one pony each, hm. I remember my sister had the little dragon. It sat on top of a Christmas present I gave her and my grandma said something stupid.
Back to the show: I watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic now. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is cool. I'm surprised that it's on Nick Jr., it doesn't seem to be made for an audience that young. And it's not only sweet, it's real in a way that not enough shows are. You know, some shows tell stories that I can't relate to at all and wonder if it's really like that somewhere in real life. Does that sound ridiculous, saying that about a cartoon? Haha.
Okay, I need an example: in 1x14 Rarity had to deal with custumers, her friends are all noobs in this field and wanted completely overladen outfits. That whole thing was very real life and surprisingly not overdone, like I've seen it on many shows. I don't get why seemingly everywhere they feel the need to exaggerate so much when doing it realistically would do. So yay for the ponies!
PS: Yes, just for this entry I got myself a MLP icon.
